Seoga

서가 The posts never explain the name; as an ordinary Korean word, seoga means a bookshelf.

Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →

Seoga is a charcoal pork-rib house in the eating alley off Exit 7 of Suyu Station, on Dobong-ro 87-gil. The owner part-grills each order over charcoal before it comes to the table, and you finish it yourself. Pork ribs are 18,000 won for a 300 g portion; posts say ordering meat gets you free cold noodles, and steamed egg, doenjang stew and acorn-jelly soup come as standard sides. Posts from September 2026 onward describe a second-floor rooftop with its own set, a 600 g mixed pork platter with cheonggukjang for 58,000 won; posts up to July mention only the ground-floor hall and the tables out front. We read 30 posts dated 20 June to 7 October 2026; 14 are visits to this restaurant. The other 16 were about Seoga & Cook or about library bookshelves (seoga) and were set aside.

Rows without a count: 6 of 13 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The ribs arrive part-grilled — nine posts said so. One put it at about 60 percent cooked; another said two more minutes on the table grill is enough. Several watched the owner doing the first grilling over charcoal near the entrance or in the middle of the room.
  2. Ten posts mentioned a private room at the back; one said it seats eight. That room is why so many posts pitch the place for work dinners.
  3. Seven posts from September 2026 on describe the second-floor rooftop: up a flight of stairs, strung with bulbs, with roughly seven tables by one count and eight or nine by another. Up there they serve only the pork platter set, and one post says rooftop bookings start from 6 pm. Two posts noted the rooftop grills are stone or iron plates rather than charcoal.
  4. Nine posts mentioned the receipt-review event: pork skin and pork tail downstairs, a Polaroid photo on the rooftop.
2 more
  1. Seven posts called the portions large. The 300 g portion comes up often; pairs who shared the pork platter said it was enough for three, or about two and a half people.
  2. Four posts mentioned the house dogs — a white Pomeranian downstairs and a big dog under the rooftop awning. Bringing your own dog shows up only in copied info lines (ground floor only, not the rooftop), so we did not count it.

Parking

Posts saying you cannot1 of 14 posts

One post came by car: there is no parking at the restaurant, so they used the Yeongnam Building car park nearby at 3,000 won an hour. The 'no parking' lines in other posts are copied listings.

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 14 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 14 posts read)
Toilet inside4 of 14 posts
Separate restrooms9 of 14 posts

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in — we simply don't know. The rooftop is reached by stairs, and one writer warned to be careful coming down them.

Nine posts said the toilets are separate for men and women, and four said they are inside the restaurant. One writer contrasted them with the dirty toilets common at Suyu barbecue places.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • No one wrote about queuing. A July 2026 post noted an outdoor waiting area, and a post from a busy Friday evening in September recommended booking; another said rooftop slots can fill up. Four posts booked ahead through Naver.
  • Three posts called the spicy ribs hot, but they differ on how hot: one compared them to Buldak noodles, another said fairly hot but not overwhelming.
  • All opening hours are copied listings. Weekdays 2 pm to 2 am (last order 1 am) are consistent. Two posts from 20–21 June 2026 had Sunday as closed; from 30 June posts list Sunday 2–10 pm. Three posts say Saturdays open at noon while more say 2 pm, and one post alone gives a 10 pm Friday close. Check before you go.
  • Prices mostly agree, with two exceptions: four posts give the spicy ribs as 19,000 won and one July 2026 post as 18,000 won; beef rib meat was 42,000 won in a July post and 46,000 won in a September one, which looks like a rise. For a meal, two portions of pork ribs come to 36,000 won with free cold noodles, and one couple paid 60,000 won for the rooftop set with two bowls of rice.
  • Of the 14 visits, one is labelled sponsored, two were review-programme visits, and one says the writer paid; the other ten say nothing. Four posts from 24–26 September 2026 cover rooftop, platter, Polaroid event and group room in the same order and look like they share a brief. Several posts give the phone number (0507-1334-9344) and mention Naver booking.
