Mad for Garlic

매드포갈릭 센터원점 Maedeupogallik Senteowonjeom Mad for Garlic is the chain's English name, and the posts bear it out — fried garlic chips and garlic butter turn up on most dishes; Center1 is the Mirae Asset office tower it sits under.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

A branch of Mad for Garlic, the Italian family-restaurant chain, two floors below ground in the Mirae Asset Center1 tower next to Euljiro 1-ga station. Pastas, pizzas and rice dishes are mostly 28,700 won, the striploin steak 66,800 won, and garlic chips land on nearly everything. You order from a tablet at the table. One couple put four dishes and a drink at close to 100,000 won, which is why so many posts arrive stacking telecom, card and app discounts. We read 30 posts from December 2024 to October 2026; 12 record an actual meal, most from May to October 2026. The rest are office-leasing ads, industry news, auto-generated listings and licence lists.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a book-ahead place: six of the twelve visit posts say they reserved, via Naver, the website or by phone. A weekday lunch party in September 2026 arrived to find the room nearly full; a Friday-dinner post from August says there was no wait at first, then a queue formed. An October post guesses the Gwanghwamun D Tower branch closing has pushed its regulars here.
  2. Hardly anyone pays full price. Four posts ate on a discount: a T-membership 50% plus a card offer that took a 99,800-won bill to about 24,950 won (October 2026), a 40% coupon (August), and the weekend 'Rib Free Day' app coupon for free ribs (May and October). Two posts say it is expensive without one.
  3. A popular office-lunch venue. Three posts mention private rooms — one party of six shared two four-person lunch sets in one — and three call the room spacious. Two note the high ceiling and one the partitions between tables.
  4. Easy by subway: three posts say it connects underground to Euljiro 1-ga station or is a short walk from Jonggak. The restaurant is on B2; two posts took the escalator down and one came straight up from the car park by lift.
2 more
  1. One post came with a four-year-old: having mentioned the child when booking by phone, they found a high chair and toddler bowl and cutlery already set, and staff offered to cut the pasta unasked. The tablet lets you set each dish to 'not spicy'.
  2. Dishes carry chili icons. One post rated the pork-rib rice at its default heat about Shin Ramyun level; another found the sizzling rice far milder than that.

Getting inside

In a basement4 of 12 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 12 posts
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 12 posts read)

No one describes steps at the entrance or wheelchair access — unknown, not absent. One post says there is no room for a stroller beside the table, so leave it outside.

One post washed up in a restroom before walking in, which suggests the toilets are in the building corridor rather than inside. Nobody mentions separate or accessible toilets.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 13 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post saw a queue form, but nobody gives a waiting time, and no post says they walked in without a booking.
  • Nine posts give opening hours, all copied from listings: eight say 10:30-21:30 daily with last orders at 20:30, one says 11:00-21:00 with last orders at 20:00. The Mad Lunch set runs until 4 pm.
  • Prices follow the menu one post copied in August 2026. The 29,700-won figures in an October post are lunch-set prices (dish plus 1,000 won), not a rise — an October receipt still shows 28,700 won. Sets run from a 185,000-won four-person package to the 248,000-won special premium set.
  • Changes: two posts say the Blossom prosciutto garlic pizza arrived in July 2026 along with half-and-half pizzas, and an October post says the old hangover soup was replaced by a potato soup.
  • Four posts give the phone number as 0507-1338-8506; one lists 02-6030-8506. People booked through Naver, the app or by phone.
  • Only one post discloses free food. An influencer post written like a new-menu launch and a florid post claiming both premium sets carry no disclosure; we kept them but leaned on them lightly. Two auto-generated listings built from the same template were not counted.
