Songridan Yangjojang

송리단양조장 Songridan is the Songridan-gil street the bar stands on, and yangjojang means brewery — posts say the house brews its own makgeolli on the premises.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

Songridan Yangjojang is a makgeolli bar on the second floor of Rex Plaza on Songridan-gil in Songpa. People come for the house makgeolli (9,000 won a bottle), which the bar says it brews on site, with a Korean-beef tripe or brisket hot pot (38,900 won). Since summer 2026 they also order live shrimp from the tank in the middle of the room, as sashimi (500g, 42,900 won) or roasted on pink salt (38,900 won), with the heads fried in butter. We read 30 posts from October 2025 to October 2026, and 27 describe actual visits. Of those, 16 ordered the shrimp sashimi and 21 the house makgeolli. Five posts got the last bottle of makgeolli or found it sold out, and two never got any.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table; ten posts say so, and the hot-pot instructions are posted on it. One post ordered drinks still listed on the tablet only to have staff run over to say they were gone.
  2. Many writers were back for another round: nine posts were repeat visits, including one on their third visit and one that had lost count.
  3. Eleven posts went with friends, three on dates, two in larger groups such as coworkers, and one as a family with children, who found it easy despite the brewery name.
  4. Eight posts found the portions large, with hot pots near overflowing and a party of three unable to finish; one post found everything on the small side.
4 more
  1. You pick the hot pot's heat, from milder than Shin Ramyun up to somewhere between that and Buldak. Four posts found it spicy, two did not, and one writer felt no heat while her friend did.
  2. Four posts mention phone chargers by the tables, two saying there are plenty, and one also found hair ties set out.
  3. Six posts found the owner and staff kind; one got free Shine Muscat grapes, another notes the broth was topped up without asking.
  4. Five posts booked ahead. One phoned to ask about the shrimp sashimi and was told to reserve; another booked a weekday 8:30 pm table and walked straight in.

Parking

Posts saying you cannot2 of 26 posts

Parking is unclear. Two posts say the building has no parking and they used a nearby public lot. Copied listings and second-hand remarks say both 'paid parking, 1,000 won per 10 minutes' and 'no parking', so we did not count them. Several posts suggest the Songpa Women's Culture Center or Songpa-dong public lots.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 13 (of 26 posts read)
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read)

It is upstairs, not in a basement. Thirteen posts describe going up to the second floor, and four of them took the stairs. One post says the stair entrance is behind the hot-pot sign on the street.

No one wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post says the elevator does not stop at the second floor, so they took the stairs. That may mean wheelchair access is hard, but no post says so directly.

Only one post mentions the toilet, saying it is just outside the door. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing blocks, which we did not count. We do not know its size or condition.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only two posts deal with waiting. One walked in just after 6 pm and watched a queue form behind; another booked a weekday 8:30 pm table and did not wait. A claim of 40-plus minutes on weekend evenings was not first-hand, so we did not count it. Another post arrived first at 5 pm on a Sunday and saw every table full by 7.
  • The opening hours almost all come from copied listings. Twelve posts agree: Tuesday to Friday 17:00–24:00, Saturday 16:00–01:00, Sunday 16:00–24:00, closed Mondays. One post has Sunday opening at 17:00, one has Saturday at 14:00, and two have Saturday closing at midnight. One post notes no afternoon break.
  • Prices: the butter shrimp heads are listed at either 3,800 or 4,000 won. Two posts explain it is 3,800 with a shrimp order and 8,800 on its own, and five visit posts wrote 4,000. Two posts give a bill for two people: 106,600 won and 161,000 won. One found the sashimi pricey for so few shrimp, while another found it dearer than the fish market but cheaper per shrimp than other bars.
  • Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1391-5211. Naver and CatchTable booking, plus booking coupons (up to 15% off, a free bottle on rainy days), come from copied listings. No post says it actually used a coupon.
  • Shrimp only arrived on the menu in summer 2026. Posts from October 2025 and February and May 2026 never mention it; a July post says the tank was new since its last visit, and an October post recalls no shrimp sashimi before. We do not know if it is seasonal only. One post found the shrimp sold out late on a Sunday.
  • Seven posts repeat the same phrases about milky-white makgeolli brewed from organic rice, ice-cold glasses and shrimp straight from the tank. None says it was sponsored, and four say the writer paid. From those posts we counted only what was ordered and experienced.
