Sushikase

스시카세 Sushikase joins sushi with the tail of omakase; one blogger read the name that way, comparing it to an omakase sushi bar.

Compiled from 10 blog posts read in fullSources →

A conveyor-belt sushi bar in the basement food hall of Lotte Department Store's main branch in Myeongdong. You take plates off the belt or order from a tablet at your seat, and plate colour sets the price, in seven steps from 2,000 to 9,500 won. We read 30 posts dated 17 September to 19 October 2026; 18 were about other shops in the same building or the hotels next door and were set aside. Of the 12 posts about Sushikase, 11 describe actually eating there (20 September–19 October 2026). We found no relocation or price change in that window.

Rows without a count: 4 of 7 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eight of the 11 posts call it expensive. The bills they report: 39,500 won for five plates alone, about 60,000 won, the 70,000s for two, 95,000 won, and over 200,000 won for 33 plates. On the 9,500-won gold plates, one writer found the price a bit much while another said the quality justified it.
  2. Five posts say they waited: 10 minutes on a weekend evening, 15 minutes around 6 pm on a Saturday, and 30 minutes behind about ten groups at noon. A writer who got a seat straight away on a weekday lunch still saw a line form right after 12. One post says the queue stands across from the shop.
  3. Seven posts mention a tablet at each seat for ordering anything not on the belt. One writer's tablet was broken; two posts note you can ask for less rice.
  4. Seating is mostly a bar along the belt. Three posts say there are tables too, one counting a straight counter plus two four-person tables; one mentions only the counter and says seats are few. Three posts say the room is not large, one finding the gap to the next diner uncomfortably tight.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basement7 of 10 posts

Seven posts place it on the department store's first basement level. One says it is easy to find once you go down; a regular says she still gets lost every time.

Nobody mentions steps, wheelchair or stroller access, or lifts. Being inside a department store it may be fine, but no post says so.

No post mentions toilets, so we do not know whether there is one in the shop or only the department store's.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The '152 m from Euljiro 1-ga Station exit 7' line is copied listing text. Only one post says it actually came by subway, finding it a short walk.
  • Company does not cluster: one post each went alone, with a wife, with a sibling, and as a group of three. Two posts say it is easy to eat here alone.
  • Seven posts give opening hours, all copied from the listing. Three agree on 10:30–20:00 Monday to Thursday and 10:30–20:30 Friday to Sunday; one puts the late close on weekends only, and two give a single time. Four say it closes on the department store's closing days.
  • Four posts give the same phone number, 0507-1351-9260. On reservations there is only one copied line saying there are none, so we cannot confirm whether you can book by phone.
  • Claims such as 'Blue Ribbon four years running' and 'a Michelin-trained chef' are the shop's own or hearsay, and we did not count them. One post repeats that copy with long taste descriptions and another takes its prices 'from a reference post', so both read like commissioned copy, though neither discloses sponsorship.
