HITSUNOYA

히츠노야 잠실점 Hicheunoya Jamsil-jeom Hitsu is the wooden rice tub (櫃) that hitsumabushi is served in and -noya means 'house' (屋), so the name reads 'house of the rice tub' — a Nagoya-style hitsumabushi (chopped charcoal-grilled eel over rice) specialist.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Nagoya-style eel-rice (hitsumabushi) restaurant on the 6th-floor dining level of Lotte World Mall's Avenuel building in Jamsil, opened by JTB Korea, the group behind Kim Susa; one post dates the opening to 30 March 2026, another to 31 March. The usual order is the 50,000-won Hitsunoya set — monkfish-liver pâté, sashimi, twelve side dishes, a choice of hitsumabushi, steamed eel or grilled fish, and pudding — which 18 posts ate. Hitsumabushi alone is 38,000 won. We read 30 posts dated March 2025 to October 2026; two 2025 opening-list posts predate this restaurant and describe another shop in the building, so we set them aside. That leaves 27 visits from 1 April to 15 October 2026, 24 of them in the first five weeks (1 April to 6 May).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The eel grill is in full view. Fifteen posts say they watched eel being grilled over charcoal. One saw the grilling at the entrance, one was seated right in front of the kitchen, and one noticed rice being cooked in pots beside it — the rice had run out and a new batch was on.
  2. Unusually for a department-store food floor, there are private rooms: 16 posts saw or used one. A family with a stroller was shown to a four-seat room with a bench along the wall; another post found the rooms fully booked and reserved a hall table instead; one enjoyed a quiet meal in a room. The claim that a room requires one set per person is hearsay, and we didn't count it.
  3. Family meals lead, with six posts: a birthday lunch, a birthday dinner with a grandchild, an early dinner with a mother before a concert, a weekday dinner with a two-year-old. Three went as a group, one with a friend, one alone. One post used a high chair; another brought a birthday cake but only lit the candles, as outside food isn't allowed.
  4. Kaisendong was discounted at opening: ten posts, all between 1 April and 5 May 2026, give it as 35,000 won instead of 42,000. A June post still calls it an opening promotion, but that post copies other blogs, so we don't rely on it. The August and October posts don't mention the price, so we don't know whether the discount has ended.
2 more
  1. Eight posts call the portions large — one says the standard hitsumabushi carries as much eel as other places serve with extra eel added. On the other hand, one parent found too little eel in the kids' set.
  2. Nine posts drank the draught beer, which is Ebisu; one paid 13,000 won for 380 ml and another found it a little expensive. Two posts from opening week say there was no drinks list yet, so they asked.

Lift to the floor1 of 27 posts
Step-free access1 of 27 posts

One post brought a stroller in and parked it in a private room, which had space for it. No one says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair can get in — unknown, not absent.

No post says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or shared with the department store, or whether it is separated by sex.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: seven posts don't find it expensive (on par with Haemok in the same mall, a fair 50,000-won set), two do, and one doesn't settle. A meal is 50,000 won for the set or 35,000–38,000 won for a rice bowl; one pair paid 85,000 won for a set plus the discounted kaisendong.
  • We know little about waiting. Only one post says there was no wait, at 6 p.m. on a weekday. Talk of huge queues is hearsay; some posts found the room busy or full, but none say they queued. Five posts booked ahead, two of them through CatchTable.
  • Two posts went or left by subway. Directions such as 'Jamsil Station exit 1, through the underground passage' are copied, so we didn't count them. One post took the escalator from the Lotte World Tower entrance to the 6th floor, another the lift.
  • Opening hours: twelve posts give 10:30–22:00 and one 11:00–22:00; two give last orders at 20:30 and three say it closes on department-store holidays. All are copied listings; no post records the hours first-hand.
  • Two phone numbers appear: 0507-1309-2643 (five posts) and 02-3213-2643 (three); one post has 0507-1309-2653. Two posts booked through CatchTable.
  • Of the 27 visits, 24 come from the first five weeks; one from 1 April 2026 says it was a pre-opening invitation, and several from that period describe the 'Kim Susa DNA', the pâté with apricot jam and pickle, and the four ways to eat hitsumabushi in the same order. Only three visits are later than mid-May, so we know less about the place now. The set's pudding is described as yogurt in April–May, blueberry in August and yuzu in October.
