Din Tai Fung

딘타이펑 롯데월드몰점 Dintaipeong Lotte World Mall-jeom Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐) is read as 'a great, abundant cauldron' — one post glosses the name that way; this is the Lotte World Mall branch of the Taiwanese xiaolongbao chain.

Compiled from 23 blog posts read in fullSources →

A branch of the Taiwanese dumpling chain Din Tai Fung in the 6th-floor restaurant arcade of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil. Most posts order xiaolongbao (7,000 won for four, 15,000 won for ten) alongside dan dan noodles (16,000 won) or beef noodle soup (18,000 won); pairs took the two-person A set, larger groups the 115,500-won Concert Hall B set or the 149,000-won set for five. Ordering is by tablet at the table. We read 30 posts from 18 July to 21 October 2026; five were about other restaurants and two were write-ups without a visit, leaving 23 visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to wait at mealtimes. Twelve posts waited or saw a queue; the times they wrote down were 10, 10–15, 15 and 20–30 minutes, and 30 minutes behind 24 groups at Sunday lunch. Two posts walked straight in, at 6 pm on a weekday and in the early evening. You register on the CatchTable kiosk at the door — one post notes you can't join the line remotely — and that post counted 38 groups at 12:30 on a weekend but no wait at 11 am.
  2. Eight posts came with children. Three mention high chairs; one says the chair slides right under the table and that a toddler tray and cutlery were provided. One post wheeled a stroller in.
  3. Five posts describe the glass-fronted kitchen by the entrance where you can watch dumplings being folded; one passed the wait watching the stacked steamers.
  4. Seven posts call the dining room spacious, split left and right of the entrance with generous gaps between large tables. One post felt there weren't enough seats for the crowds, hence the weekend waits.
4 more
  1. Seven posts found the xiaolongbao full of broth. But one complained the dumplings were lukewarm, another that the broth wasn't as hot as expected, and a third that the tops were slightly dry.
  2. Five posts found the staff friendly; one disagreed, writing that when they pointed out a dirty water glass it was swapped without a word.
  3. On the dan dan noodles, two posts said they weren't as hot as they looked and two called them gently spicy without settling it. Only one post called something hot — the spicy crab shaomai.
  4. Two posts say food was slow: one waited longest for the xiaolongbao, another found two set items had been dropped from the order. One post said food came quickly. Two posts note the tablet lets you ask for dishes to be paced.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 23 posts

Only one post drove: they parked around B3, took over 30 minutes to find a spot and paid about 10,000 won. The line that restaurants get no parking validation is copied from the mall's notice by several posts.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Step-free access1 of 23 posts

The 6th-floor location is just the address; nobody wrote about levels or stairs within the restaurant. That means no one mentioned it, not that there are none.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or entering by wheelchair; one post simply wheeled a stroller in.

We don't know whether the restrooms are inside the restaurant. 'Separate men's and women's restrooms' appears only in copied listing blocks; no one described using them.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices don't fully agree across posts: vegetable zhengjiao at 9,000 won (September) and 10,000 won (October), beef noodles at 18,000 won in two posts but 14,500 won in a copied menu block, guobaorou at 32,000 won for a medium and 21,000 won with no size given. One post found it pricey, another 'not bad for Lotte World Mall'.
  • No post describes actually arriving by subway or bus; the '27 m from Jamsil Station exit 2' line is copied. Several say the quickest route is the escalator next to Olive Young on the 5th floor.
  • Twelve posts give opening hours: eleven say 10:30–22:00 and one says 10:00–22:30; eight list last orders at 21:00. Most of this is copied from the listing, and the possible 15:00–17:00 break 'depending on conditions' was never confirmed by a visit.
  • Six posts list the phone number 0507-1431-4628. One says you can book through CatchTable; another says bookings are weekday-only, not on weekends or holidays; a third says groups of seven or more should call the restaurant.
