유림면 Myeon means noodles; the posts do not explain what Yurim stands for.

Yurimmyeon is a buckwheat noodle house on Seosomun-ro 139-1 in Jung-gu, Seoul, in the alley between exits 11 and 12 of City Hall station. There are four dishes: cold buckwheat noodles (11,000 won), spicy mixed buckwheat noodles (12,000 won), hot pot noodles (11,000 won) and spicy mixed wheat noodles (11,000 won). You order and pay at the counter as you walk in, then get shown to a seat. Posts describe the cold noodles arriving on two trays, with thick slices of pickled radish and broth set down first. We read 34 posts from June to October 2026; 24 were first-hand visits. We set aside 7 that were about the same-named shop in Lotte Department Store Incheon (Yeonnam-ro 35, Michuhol-gu), and did not count 3 multi-restaurant lists.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to queue at lunch and on weekends. Fifteen posts mentioned a line; the waits they gave were 5, 10, 10, 10, 10 to 15 and 20 minutes. There are no numbered tickets or app sign-ups, so you stand outside until your turn, and one post noted the whole party has to be there before you go in. Three posts walked straight in around opening time and found a line when they left; one went in at 11:00 and came out around 11:40.
  2. The room is not large. Four posts called it cramped or said the tables are close together, and one could hear every word from the next table. Three posts added that the two floors give more seats than it looks from outside.
  3. The dipping broth comes up again and again as sweet. Seven posts said the broth or the mixed-noodle sauce was sweet; one said it was not very sweet. Two suggested adding mustard to cut the sweetness. On salt, six posts said it was not salty or was mild, and one found it a little salty.
  4. Most posts found the portions small. Eight said so; two found the two trays generous. Two posts said there is no large size or extra noodles, though one long-time regular wrote that you can order an extra tray of cold noodles.

  1. Food comes out quickly; three posts said so.
  2. It is a short walk from City Hall station. Six posts said it is close to the station, though they named different exits: 12, 11 and 1. One noted that exits 12 and 1 are only steps apart, but only exit 1 has an escalator.
  3. People came with all sorts of company: a partner or spouse in four posts, family in three, friends in two, alone in one, and seven colleagues in one. One family brought a child and found the two trays easy to share. The solo diner mentioned separate seats for one.

Assume there is no parking. One post said so in its own words; the many other "no parking" lines are copied info blocks. One post passed on advice to use paid lots nearby, such as the Seosomun city hall annex.

From the station

Getting inside

Second floor7 of 24 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 6 (of 24 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 24 posts

The restaurant is on two floors. Seven posts mentioned an upstairs room, and one was sent up by staff. One post described a long row of tables down the middle of the second floor; a group of seven split into three and four there. One Sunday visitor thought only the ground floor was open and counted ten tables: one for six, four for four and five for two.

It is at street level, not in a basement. Six posts said they ate on the ground floor, or described ground and upper floors.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, and nobody described the stairs or any lift to the second floor. That means we don't know, not that there is no access.

One post said the toilet is inside, on the second floor. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one post's copied info block, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Accounts of the service differ. Three posts found the staff friendly; one said the owner loudly tells newcomers who head for a seat to order and pay first, which can come across as brusque. A regular of twenty years said service has become much friendlier than it used to be.
  • Posts disagree on whether the mixed buckwheat noodles are spicy: three said spicy, two said not, and two described a mild heat blended with sweetness.
  • Opening hours are copied differently from post to post. Eight agree on 11:00-20:30 on weekdays and 11:00-19:30 on weekends, with last orders at 20:00 and 19:00. One says 11:00-20:30 daily, one says Monday to Saturday 11:00-20:00 with Sundays off, and one says closed Tuesdays; but posts describe visits on a Sunday at 3 p.m. and on a Tuesday lunchtime, so those closing days look wrong. All of these are copied listings, so check before you go.
  • Prices match across posts: 11,000 won for the cold noodles, hot pot noodles and mixed wheat noodles, 12,000 won for the mixed buckwheat noodles, so a meal runs 11,000 to 12,000 won a person. Nobody called it expensive, and one post said it was cheap for Seoul. One August 2026 post saw hot buckwheat noodles (11,000 won) and a stone-pot dish (13,000 won) on the menu, but another post that month said the stone-pot dish had been dropped, so we don't know if either is still sold.
  • Several posts give the same phone number, 02-755-0659. Nobody tried to book; one copied info block says phone and online reservations are not taken. The walk-up queue suggests no bookings, but no one confirmed it first-hand.
  • Seven posts from one marketing blog follow the same template (three-line summary, arrow headings, FAQ) and promote the Lotte Department Store Incheon branch, so we left them all out. Even in the Seoul posts, details like the chili from Yeonggwang, honey in the sauce, Bongpyeong buckwheat, Bigeum-do sea salt, the 1980 move and the third-generation family story are copied from the shop's own copy and the Michelin Guide blurb, so we did not rely on them; the founding year is copied as both 1960 and 1970. Two posts said they saw "Korean Bongpyeong buckwheat only" written on the menu board themselves.
