OLIPEPE

올리페페 Ollipepe Olipepe joins 'oli' from olive with 'pepe', Italian for pepper — the name CJ Foodville gave this Italian brand.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

Olipepe Gwanghwamun is an Italian restaurant on the second floor of the Cheonggye Hanguk Building at 11 Cheonggyecheon-ro, right where the Cheonggyecheon stream begins. It serves pizza from a wood-fired oven in the middle of the room, plus pasta, with most plates between ₩20,000 and ₩30,000 (olive pizza ₩25,000, octopus aglio ₩24,000, cacio pasta ₩22,000). Seven posts note that it is run by CJ Foodville. We read 30 posts from February to October 2026; 29 describe a visit, and one was about another restaurant nearby, so we set it aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The pizza oven sits in the middle of the dining room. Fifteen posts say you can watch the pizzas being made, from stretching the dough to sliding it into the oven; one writer watched from a window seat beside it while waiting.
  2. Window tables look over the Cheonggyecheon. Fourteen posts mention the windows. Several got a window seat by asking for one in the booking notes; others found every window table already reserved. One writer at the far end saw police cars more than the stream.
  3. Expect a wait at dinner and weekday lunch. Eight posts mention waiting, two say there was none. Recorded waits: about five parties on a Friday at 6:30 pm, about two parties another day, roughly 10 minutes walking in on a Saturday at 5 pm, and 5 minutes after a CatchTable sign-up at 7 pm in October. The two no-wait visits were 12:30 pm on the Chuseok holiday and a holiday Saturday. There is a CatchTable kiosk at the door, and 18 posts say you can book through Naver or CatchTable.
  4. There are private rooms. Seven posts mention them. The most detailed says there are two eight-seat rooms at the back that open into one for 16 to 17 people via a folding partition. Two posts say room bookings carry a minimum spend, but that is relayed from the restaurant's own notice.
2 more
  1. Opinions on salt split. Two posts found food salty, five said it wasn't. On the octopus aglio alone, one writer found it far too salty and three said the seasoning was fine.
  2. Two posts came with small children, and both mention high chairs. One asked for two while waiting and found them set up with toddler trays; the other wrote that there were plenty.

Parking

Posts saying you can park3 of 28 posts

Three posts say you can use the mechanical car park behind the building, free for up to two hours; one heard from the attendant that it's ₩3,000 per 30 minutes after that. The same post says only sedans and compact cars fit, and another writer couldn't park their electric car there and used a paid lot nearby.

Getting inside

Second floor8 of 28 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 28 posts
Step-free access2 of 28 posts
Toilet inside2 of 28 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 28 posts

The restaurant is upstairs. Eight posts say second floor, and several describe entering at street level and climbing a staircase. One parent with a stroller wrote that strollers should use the building elevator, located inside across from the restroom.

No post describes entering in a wheelchair. Two came in with strollers, one using the building elevator. Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or an accessible restroom — that means we don't know, not that there isn't one.

Two posts say the restroom is inside the restaurant, and one says firsthand that it's separated by gender. Other mentions of separate restrooms are copied from the listing, so we didn't count them.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours: 14 posts agree on 10:30 am to 10 pm daily, and nine give last orders at 9 pm, though most copied this from the listing. Two say there is no afternoon break. No post mentions a closing day.
  • On what a meal costs: about ₩70,000 for two, ₩71,000 for two adults and two small children without drinks, and around ₩30,000 a head for a group dinner. One post called the prices steep, another first thought so and then decided they were fair. The 40% discount mentioned in some posts is for CJ employees only.
  • Seven posts give the phone number as 02-736-1211; one lists a different number (031-946-5277). Two posts say bookings for five or more should be made by phone.
  • The menu rotates. A writer who visited in spring 2026 and posted in October said the shrimp pizza and clam oil pasta they had are now gone. The fig salad appears only in posts from late September, and a strawberry salad only in February as a seasonal item. The current menu may differ.
  • Whether it's quiet depends on when you go. One post found it calm enough for a quiet meal; another walked out before ordering on a nearly full weekday evening because group tables made it loud — while noting the staff offered to clear a window table for them.
  • Many posts follow the same 'great for group dinners and dates' template, and one repeats press-release figures (about 170 pyeong, 156 seats, Neapolitan-certified flour). We didn't treat any of that as evidence.
