Eongteori Saenggogi Gwanghwamun-jeom
엉터리생고기 광화문점 Eongteori means a sham or something botched and saenggogi means fresh, unfrozen meat; one visitor joked that despite the name nothing here turned out to be a sham.

Eongteori Saenggogi Gwanghwamun is a Korean beef and pork barbecue house in the basement of the Cheonggye Hanguk Building at 11 Cheonggyecheon-ro, near Gwanghwamun Station. It opened around April 2026; staff grill the meat at the table and there are set lunches. We read 24 posts dated 27 April to 8 October 2026, and only 5 of them record an actual meal. The other 19 are 3 posts by the restaurant or a supplier, 1 post assembled from listing data, and 15 near-identical posts published between 25 July and 1 August. Visitors ordered pork belly (2 posts), the beef assortment, the marinated beef rib lunch set and kimchi hot pot.

What sets it apart
- Staff do the grilling. Two of the five visitors mentioned it: one said the server handed each diner the first piece of every cut and named it, the other that the server came back at exactly the right moments to turn the meat. The same two posts also called the staff friendly.
- Writing a Naver review gets you a plate of beef tartare. Two visitors received it; one expected a token amount and got a generous plate, the other noted it came coated in a gochujang-like sauce rather than plain.
- The cuts are thick. Two posts said so; one visitor thought two portions of pork belly looked too small, checked with staff, added a third, and then found the thickness made it more than enough.
- One visitor found mobile data weak in the basement and used the Wi-Fi posted at the table instead.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| In a basement | 1 of 4 posts |
|---|
No visitor described the entrance, a step, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post confirms the basement location, but no one said whether you reach it by stairs or lift. The 'wheelchair accessible entrance' line is copied listing data.
No visitor said where the toilets are. 'Separate men's and women's toilets' appears only in copied listing data; that is not the same as anyone having checked.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 23 posts we gathered, 19 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- We set aside 15 near-identical posts published on different blogs between 25 July and 1 August 2026. They list the same four lunch dishes in the same order, repeat the same lines about private rooms, the in-house butcher counter, table grilling and parking, and give no prices; two still have the dish names blanked out. We did not use their praise as evidence.
- Opening hours vary between posts. Both visitors who listed them copied 10:00 to 22:00, but one copied 'closed Saturday and Sunday' and the other 'open daily' (and that visitor ate there on a Saturday). The restaurant's own blog (October 2026) says it closes every Sunday. One visitor noted there was no afternoon break.
- We know very little about prices. The only figure a visitor wrote down is 18,000 won for kimchi hot pot. Pork belly at 19,000 won per 150 g, beef sirloin at 40,000 won per 100 g and lunch sets at 17,000 to 45,000 won come from copied listing data. No one recorded what a full meal cost.
- No visitor described walking from the station; the 'one or two minutes from Gwanghwamun Station exit 5' line comes from info blocks and promotional posts.
- No one mentioned waiting for a table. One visitor said the food came fairly quickly, but we don't know about queues.
- Only two posts say who they came with, both friends. No visitor came with family, alone or as a work group, so we can't say how it suits those. One visitor confirmed there are separate rooms.
- The phone number 0507-1311-3374 appears in many posts, but no visitor booked by phone or online; the booking claim comes only from copied info and the restaurant's blog.
