Yeonok
연옥 Yeonok is a Korean word that can mean nephrite (soft jade) or purgatory; none of the posts say which meaning the owners had in mind.

Yeonok is a Korean-beef soup restaurant in a half-basement on Yeonmujang 7ga-gil 2, a short walk from Exit 4 of Seongsu Station. Posts list the beef soup at 12,000 won (15,000 for the large, 13,000 for the spicy one), beef-tartare bibimbap at 14,000 and the roe-and-potato pancake at 13,000. You order from a tablet at the table and top up side dishes from a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts dated 6 May to 5 October 2026; 7 were about other places or used the word in another sense, so we counted 23.

Rows without a count: 5 of 10 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours
What sets it apart
- You walk from Seongsu Station. Five posts described the way, most saying four to five minutes from Exit 4; one gave turn-by-turn directions past an LG U+ shop to the alley across from Sulbing, and another came from Exit 3.
- Six posts said you order from a tablet or kiosk at the table.
- Side dishes arrive with the meal and you refill them yourself at a self-serve bar; seven posts did so. The sides are kimchi, cubed radish kimchi, dried radish and a cucumber salad, which two posts said they refilled twice.
- Sixteen posts said the portions are big. Seven of them, though, repeat the same lines about the owner running an honest business and the best soup they ever had, so we would not take the number at face value. Posts that said they paid their own way also called the bowl full and filling.

No one described actually parking. One sponsored post said there is no parking and asked people to walk; the rest are copied info blocks or hearsay about a nearby paid lot.

It is a half-basement reached by stairs. Five posts said so — one gave directions ending with walking down the half-basement steps, another showed the way in going downstairs, and one called it a hideout half a floor down.
Nobody said whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Posts mention stairs down but say nothing of a ramp or lift; that means no one wrote about it, not that there isn't one.
The toilet is outside the restaurant, elsewhere in the building. Two posts said so, one placing it on the second floor and one half a floor up; both mentioned a door code and separate men's and women's rooms. A copied info block claiming an indoor toilet was not counted.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Posts disagree on heat. Four said the soup was not spicy, one even for someone who can't handle Shin Ramyun; the one person who ordered the spicy version found it a little hot. Four more only called it hearty and peppery without saying which bowl they had. The menu has a regular and a spicy version.
- Waiting barely comes up. One post said there was no wait on a public holiday; we don't know what peak lunch or dinner is like.
- No post says the writer ate alone. Two went with friends and one as a couple. Several posts say the bar seats suit solo diners, but that is their guess, not what they did.
- Nine posts agree on weekday hours of 11:00 to 22:00, with a 15:00 to 17:00 break. Sunday closing splits: five posts say 21:00, two say 22:00 for the whole weekend. One post from May 2026 listed 11:30 to 22:00 daily. Most of these are copied info blocks.
- No post called it expensive; one wondered whether 12,000 won for the soup was a bit much and then shrugged that it's Korean beef.
- Three posts give the same phone number, 0507-1325-8350. Reservations appear only in one copied info block, so we can't confirm them.
- Many posts look stamped from one template: seven repeat the same phrases about honesty and the best soup ever, and similar posts share the same hashtags and give no prices. Two posts disclose sponsorship and four say the writer paid. Claims like broth simmered for three days and top-grade beef are the restaurant's own lines, which we did not count.
