Ttuksidon

뚝시돈 Ttuksidon is a contraction of Ttukdo Sijang Donkkaseu, 'Ttukdo Market pork cutlet' — one writer notes that is the shop's formal name.

Ttuksidon is a small pork-cutlet shop tucked into an alley of Ttukdo Market in Seongsu-dong 2-ga. It sells hand-made loin cutlets (8,400–8,900 won), a thick-cut 'dukkeobi' cutlet (9,400 won), a cheese cutlet (9,900 won), a radish-kimchi nabe stew (9,900–10,500 won) and cutlet sets with pollack-sashimi cold noodles, all ordered at a kiosk. Several writers point out the fried egg laid on the rice. There is a dining room of four or five tables, but many posts describe it as mainly a delivery and takeout kitchen. We read 21 posts from November 2024 to September 2026; one was about a different shop across the alley and was set aside, and 15 describe eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order at a kiosk: five posts say so, one surprised to find one even inside a traditional market. One writer adds that the owner will help if the machine is a problem.
  2. Seating is limited. Writers who counted tables found 4, 5, 5–6 and 5. Five posts say the room is small — 'cozy', 'cramped since it's mostly delivery' — and one guessed you might not get a seat at lunchtime. One post mentions outlets at the sofa seats and free Wi-Fi.
  3. Six posts call the coating crisp; three mention the thickness of the meat, two say it stayed juicy, two that it had no gamey smell, and one that the batter did not peel off. No post said otherwise.
  4. Six posts call it cheap. One ordered three dishes for 29,700 won, 'about what two items cost at a big chain'; another summed up a loin-cutlet set as '10,500 won of happiness'. Nobody called it expensive.
3 more
  1. No post describes queuing; two say they walked straight in. But one says food came out slowly at lunch because of delivery orders, and another was warned on arrival that dine-in orders might be delayed for the same reason.
  2. Five posts come from repeat visitors — 'always the donmani', 'my usual is the kimchi nabe' — mostly people working nearby who keep coming back for lunch.
  3. Three posts say the portions are large, two of them about the nabe. Two posts got refills of side dishes — young-radish kimchi in one, salad in the other.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post says which floor the shop is on — that is not a sign it is underground, just that nobody wrote about it.

Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; all we know is that it is a narrow shop inside a market alley.

No one describes the restroom first-hand; one post's copied info block says it is outside and separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices have risen: early-2025 posts list the loin cutlet at 8,400 won and the nabe at 9,900; an October 2025 post has the nabe at 10,500 and a March 2026 post the loin cutlet at 8,900. Set prices appear as 11,900 (Jan 2025), 10,500 (Jul 2026) and 'about 12,000' (Sep 2026), but we cannot tell if these are the same set.
  • Opening hours: six visit posts give 11:00–21:00, though four of them copy an info block. A September 2026 post says there is no afternoon break, while a February 2025 takeout post listed 20:30 closing with a 15:00–17:00 break and a June 2025 delivery post a 10:00 opening. No one names a closing day; one writer found it open on a Sunday when the rest of the market was shut.
  • Three posts copy the phone number 010-4204-2842, but none mentions booking ahead or whether reservations are taken.
  • No post describes the walk from a station or bus stop; '795 m from Seongsu Station exit 3' is copied from an info block. One writer says she doubted several times she was on the right path while following the map.
