Jeju Heukdwaeji (Ttukseom Dorak)

제주흑돼지(뚝섬도락) Jeju Heukdwaeji means 'Jeju black pig'; until July 2026 the same shop traded as Ttukseom Dorak, after the Ttukseom area and dorak, a word for a pleasure or pastime.

A grill house and grilled-fish lunch spot in a lane off Achasan-ro 13-gil, near the Seongdong tax office, a 10–15 minute walk from exit 2 of Seongsu Station. Since late July 2026 the sign reads Jeju Heukdwaeji; earlier posts call it Ttukseom Dorak — same address, same menu. At lunch it serves grilled-fish sets with a one-person pot rice and cheonggukjang (flounder 16,000 won, hairtail or rockfish 18,000, dried croaker 19,000); in the evening, 1++ Korean beef brisket (150 g, 29,000 won) and Jeju black-pork cuts (17,000 won) grilled on a stone plate with kimchi, bracken and bean sprouts. We read 30 posts dated 12 May to 22 September 2026, all from people who ate there.

Rows without a count: 16 of 19 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There is a separate room at the back: 23 of the 30 posts mention it. Two say it seats up to 20, one counts five four-person tables, and two note a drinks fridge inside so groups can help themselves.
  2. The brisket keeps being described as thick: 7 posts say it came cut thicker than at other places. Some also quote the owner saying it is cut thick on purpose, but we did not count what was only heard.
  3. Lunch pot rice is cooked per person after you order: 5 posts say so, and one mentions a sign warning it takes about ten minutes. Almost every lunch post describes scooping the rice out and pouring water into the pot for scorched-rice soup.
  4. Many posts quote the sign out front and on the fridge doors: soju and beer are 2,000 won a bottle if you order meat. Four posts actually drank at that price or saw the help-yourself fridge. One says imported beer is included; another remembers Stella at 6,000 won.

Unusually for Seongsu, it has its own lot: 10 posts saw or used it — an open yard behind a light-blue gate beside the shop, roughly ten spaces according to one writer. The hours (free after 6 pm on weekdays, all day at weekends) are mostly copied from the listing; one post says weekends only and another says until 6 pm.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet inside5 of 30 posts
Separate restrooms3 of 30 posts

We don't know about the floor or entrance: the address says ground floor, but no post describes stairs one way or the other.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — that means unknown, not absent. One post says you can walk straight in from the car park through a blue door.

The toilets are inside: 5 posts say so and 3 say they are separate for men and women. One adds that each is a single stall with a bidet.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Nobody reports actually waiting. Two posts that came at 1:30 pm at the weekend found no queue; one Sunday-lunch post says it filled up right after they ordered and they nearly had to wait. Several say weekday noon is busy with office workers, but none gives a wait time.
  • Walking times vary a little: most say 10–15 minutes (about 820 m) from Seongsu exit 2; one post alone says 5 minutes from exit 4. One writer came by bus to the Seongdong tax office stop, and another mentions the Seongdong 10 village bus from exit 4.
  • All opening hours are copied from listings. Most give Mon–Sat 11:00–21:00 (break 16:00–17:00, last order 20:30) and Sunday 11:00–14:00 (last order 13:30); two posts simply say 11:00–21:00 daily. No post mentions a regular closing day.
  • Fish-set prices may have gone up: rockfish was 16,000 won in a June 2026 post and 18,000 in two September posts; mackerel was 13,000 in August and 14,000 on a September menu photo. The same writer gave the 450 g pork platter as 35,000 and then 39,000 won in July. One post puts a meal for two — two meats and steamed egg — at about 51,000 won.
  • Most posts give the phone number as 0507-1338-0384; one alone gives 02-499-0045. Posts say the room and group tables can be booked, but none actually made a booking.
  • The name changed: posts up to 18 July 2026 show the Ttukseom Dorak sign, and from 29 July they report the new name Jeju Heukdwaeji. For a while Naver Map still listed it as Ttukseom Dorak. Address, menu and prices were the same either side, so we counted them together.
  • A lot of this is promotion: two posts disclose sponsorship and one says it was an invited visit. Among the rest, about a dozen evening posts share the same hashtags, the same brisket-and-pork order and the same 'aged at low temperature, butchered daily' line, and six lunch posts share an 'office lunch near Seongsu' headline and the same map link. Templated posts repeat each other, so our counts may look stronger than independent experience would.
