Tanon 55

타논55 Thanon is the Thai word for 'road' or 'street'; one post notes that 5 is read 'ha' in Thai, so 55 reads like laughter.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

Tanon 55 is a Thai restaurant on the second floor of a building on a side street off Ttukseom-ro 9-gil, a 5–10 minute walk from Seongsu Station exit 3. The most-ordered dishes are curry noodle soup with fried intestine (18,000–19,000 won), mu thot curry (S 15,000–16,000 won) and pork-bone noodle soup (13,000–14,000 won). You order from a tablet or kiosk at each table and fetch pickled radish and side dishes from a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts dated September 2 to October 5, 2026. Five were about the Guui and Sejong branches and were set aside, one was not a visit, and we count from the remaining 24 visits.

Rows without a count: 9 of 15 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Fourteen posts say the portions are large and none say they are small. One says the pork-bone noodle and shrimp rice set could feed two. Two posts say extra noodles and bean sprouts are free with the pork-bone noodle soup; the one that took both says they were so full they walked for over 30 minutes before going home.
  2. Five posts walked from Seongsu Station, giving 5, 9, 5, 10 and 10 minutes; one says to turn into the alley behind the Musinsa Megastore.
  3. Six posts ordered from a tablet or kiosk at the table. Posts note a sign for a pickup counter, yet staff brought the food to the table.
  4. Five posts found the seasoning mild and two found it strong — the intestine curry broth was called salty and punchy, while the mu thot curry sauce was described as gentle.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 24 posts

Only one post dealt with parking firsthand: there was none at the restaurant, so they used a public lot. 'No parking' appears in many copied info blocks and one copied block even says parking is available, so we don't rely on either. One post says a nearby building charges 6,000 won an hour.

Getting inside

Second floor9 of 24 posts
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 2 (of 24 posts read)

The registered address says unit 203 on the first floor, but nine posts describe climbing stairs to the second floor, entering the building under a yellow sign or the Anana photo studio sign.

No one mentioned a step at the door, a lift, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — we don't know, which is not the same as there being none. Nine posts took the stairs; one says they are not steep.

The toilet is not inside the restaurant: two posts say it is just outside, one noting you take a key with you and the other that only Tanon 55 customers use it. No one said whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting varies: three posts (Friday lunch, a weekend, and a 3:30 pm booking) walked straight in, and one (lunch on September 2, 2026) saw a queue. No one gave a wait time. One post booked ahead.
  • Size is split: two posts call it roomy and three say it is small. Several mention more seats behind a central wall, and groups of six and eight sat at pushed-together tables.
  • Opinions on the fried intestine differ: one post noticed an offal smell, two said there was none. One post found the food slow and another fast.
  • Prices for the same dish differ by 1,000 won: pork-bone noodles at 13,000 (three posts) or 14,000 (three), intestine curry noodles at 19,000 (four) or 18,000 (one), mu thot curry S at 16,000 (three) or 15,000 (one). Two posts say the in-store prices were higher than the menu on Naver. Bills given: 28,000 won for two, and 45,000 won for two with two beers.
  • Opening hours appear in 16 posts, all but one copied from listings. Most agree: weekdays 11:30–22:00 with a 15:00–17:00 break, Saturdays 12:00–22:00, closed Sundays. Two say there is no Saturday break; one gives an 11:00 opening Monday to Saturday and last orders at 20:00.
  • Eleven posts give the same phone number, 02-467-1330. One post visited with a booking; the claim that Naver reservations are available comes from copied listings.
  • One regular says the room is unusually humid and puts them off in midsummer. No one mentioned air conditioning.
  • Many posts share near-identical titles and pasted info blocks. One carries a 'blog reviewer program' hashtag, and one templated post was not counted as a visit.
