Soup and riceKorean

Suje Yangjeong Sundaeguk

수제양정순대국 Suje means handmade (several posts note the sundae sausage is made in-house), Yangjeong is the shop's own name, and sundaeguk is a pork broth soup with sausage and offal.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

The original branch of a sundaeguk shop at 94 Seongdeokjeong-gil, next to Ttukdo Market in Seongsu-dong 2-ga. It serves bone-broth sundaeguk with head meat, offal and glass-noodle sausage, boiling in an earthenware pot: 8,000 won for the regular, 10,000 won for the large. There are many variants (pork stomach, offal, mixed, spicy, curry, kimchi, cabbage greens) plus boiled-pork platters. We read 26 posts from 12 December 2024 to 15 September 2026; 15 of them are visits to this branch. Ten were about the same-name Wangsimni branch and one was about a neighbouring shop, so we left them out.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All 11 posts that talked about portions said they were large. The recurring point is how much meat sits in the regular bowl: one diner said you don't need the large size, another ladled meat onto a side plate and still had a full pot, and one barely touched the rice. One post noted that it is mostly offal and head meat, with only two or three pieces of sausage.
  2. Ten posts reached a view on price and nine called it cheap. Six posts from January 2025 to September 2026 all give 8,000 won for the regular bowl, so the price did not move in the period we read. One post from December 2024 remarked that soup prices in general have gone up a lot.
  3. Six posts said you can help yourself to more side dishes. Onion, ssamjang and pickled peppers are brought to the table first; kimchi and radish kimchi are scooped from a crock or topped up at a self-serve bar. Opinions split over which kimchi is better, and a couple of diners found it underwhelming.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No visitor described the floor. The address says ground floor, but nobody mentioned stairs either way.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that there is a problem.

No visitor actually described the toilet. One post's info line lists it as a shared unisex toilet inside, which we treat as copied information, and another reviewer said they never went.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • The porky smell divides people: five posts said there was none, two said there was, and two said it was faintly there but fine. One June 2026 diner could not finish because of it and suggested sensitive eaters think twice.
  • Three posts covered waiting. One saw a queue around 12:10 on a weekday but said it moved quickly; two walked straight in, at 12:40 on a Monday and just after 1 pm on a weekend. Nobody said whether reservations are taken.
  • It is a walk from the subway: posts put it at about 15 to 20 minutes from Seongsu Station exit 3, and one called it a bit of a distance. Nobody wrote about taking a bus.
  • Six posts all list the hours as 10:30 to 22:30 daily, though every one is an info line or copied from the map listing. Nobody mentioned a break time or last order. Three posts give the phone number as 02-469-6665; we don't know whether you can book by phone.
  • The shop moved before the period we read. A December 2024 post says it began as a small stall inside Ttukdo Market and moved to bigger premises, and an October 2025 post links an older review of its first visit after the move. We have no posts about the old shop. The same-name Wangsimni branch is a separate shop, so we did not count it.
