SOBASIKDANG

소바식당 Soba Sikdang Soba sikdang simply means 'soba eatery' — soba is Japanese buckwheat noodles and sikdang is the Korean word for a restaurant.

Compiled from 13 blog posts read in fullSources →

A soba shop on the ground floor of a house-like building in an alley off Yeonmujang-gil, a few minutes from Seongsu Station. It serves cold soba in slushy broth, hot noodles in Korean beef broth, and salmon or pollock-roe rice bowls; nearly everyone adds the tamago menchikatsu (9,000 won). Posted prices run from 10,000 won for plain cold soba to 16,000 won for sea-urchin soba, ordered and prepaid on a tablet at each table. We read 15 posts from October 2024 to September 2026, 13 of them from actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order on a tablet at your table — eight posts mention it. Payment comes first, and two posts note you can split the bill on the screen; one mentions an option to drop the cucumber from cold soba.
  2. Four posts waited and two didn't. The waits: about 10 minutes at noon on a weekday, 20 minutes, first in line at lunch with a long queue forming behind, and a brief wait outside at 1 pm on a full Sunday. There's no waiting list — two posts say you just line up outside, and one notes there's no waiting area. The two who walked straight in came on a weekday and at an off-peak hour.
  3. Seven posts found the room bigger than expected — more tables than you'd guess, two- and four-seaters, a slightly separated nook, and one post figured tables could be pushed together for eight.
  4. Four posts said the food came quickly — one timed the soba at about ten minutes after ordering.

  1. Two posts found the soba ordinary, one saying it wasn't worth queuing for. Two described the broth as light rather than salty — one liked that, the other found it bland.

Two posts describe the entrance: one notes a few steps at the door that would make strollers or wheelchairs difficult, and another says the shop is on the ground floor. No one mentions a ramp or another way in.

We don't know where the restroom is or whether it's separated by gender — nobody wrote about it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 15 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices may have risen: sweet-shrimp cold soba was 13,000 won in a February 2025 post and 15,000 won in June 2026. On whether it's expensive, opinion splits one each — pricey, good value, and not cheap but fair for the ingredients. A typical meal was a bowl of soba (10,000–16,000 won) plus a 9,000-won side.
  • Several posts copied the line about a 3- to 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station exit 4; one said from experience it was easy to find, while another warned the small sign is easy to miss.
  • All 13 visit posts give the same hours — daily 11:00 to 21:00 with a 15:00–17:00 break — and 11 give last order at 20:30, but every one of them copied the shop's own listing. None mentions a closing day.
  • Eight posts list the phone number 02-6339-1552, but none says whether the shop takes reservations.
  • One September 2026 post is a promotional write-up built around a TV mention and the shop's listing, so we didn't count it as a visit; an October 2025 weekly diary only passes the shop in a single line and wasn't counted either.
