A neighbourhood Korean-Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the Iljo Building at 290 Gwangnaru-ro, Seongsu-dong 2-ga, across from the Seongdong tax office. It serves noodle and rice plates such as platter jjajang, oyster jjamppong and dry jjajang alongside dishes like pepper stir-fry and sweet-and-sour pork, with half-and-half combos and day-of-the-week specials. The only prices written down are 9,000 won for platter jjajang (Jan 2025) and 40,000 won for a large pepper stir-fry (Mar 2025). We read 7 posts from January 2025 to April 2026; one was about a different restaurant of the same name in Gwanghwamun, and 5 describe actual visits.

What sets it apart

  1. Two posts mention discounted dishes that change by day of the week; one of them also calls the prices kind.
  2. One post says the platter jjajang is cooked the moment you order, and you can hear the wok working in the kitchen.
  3. Both posts that judged the food called it ordinary, standard Chinese-restaurant fare; one said it isn't worth travelling for but is fine if you work nearby.

The most ordered dish is gunmandu (군만두(서비스)) — 3 of 5 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Getting inside

Second floor2 of 5 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 5 posts read)

It is upstairs. Two posts mention climbing to the second floor of the Iljo Building, and both found it roomier than expected, with tables running well into the back.

We don't know whether the second floor is reached by stairs or a lift, or whether there is a step at the door; no post says.

Nobody mentions the toilet, so we don't know where it is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 6 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post explains how to get there by subway or bus; they only say it faces the Seongdong tax office.
  • No one wrote about waiting. One post says it filled up at lunchtime; another went around 1:40 pm and ate at leisure. That isn't proof there's no lunch queue, only that nobody reported one.
  • Only two posts say who they went with, and both were groups (a work dinner, a party of four); we can't say how it suits solo diners.
  • Opening hours appear in just one post — 10:00 to 22:00, closed Sundays — as a bare label line that may have been copied from a listing; no other post confirms it.
  • Only two prices were written down and no post gives a per-person total: 9,000 won for platter jjajang (Jan 2025) and 40,000 won for large pepper stir-fry (Mar 2025).
  • The phone number, 02-499-8940, appears only in one post that reproduces a public 'model restaurant' list; no post says whether reservations are taken.
