Raw fish

Singsing Hoetjip

싱싱횟집 Singsing means fresh and lively, the way a live fish is; hoetjip is a raw-fish restaurant.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

A raw-fish house at 90 Seongdeokjeong-gil in Seongsu-dong 2-ga, beside Ttukdo Market. People come for live-fish sashimi platters, wild rock oysters in summer and live shrimp, then finish with spicy fish stew and hand-torn sujebi. The prices we have are 120,000 won for a large platter, 60,000 won for medium oysters and 10,000 won to add the stew. Any sashimi order comes with a spread of sides first: mussel soup, soft tofu, braised fish, kimchi pancake. We read 17 posts from May to October 2026. Fifteen describe a visit, one is a listicle, and one was about a same-name restaurant on Geoje Island, so we set it aside.

Rows without a count: 3 of 6 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The owner, a woman who runs the floor, is what these posts are about. Eight said she was kind or funny. Posts describe her peeling live shrimp for guests, tearing sujebi dough into the stew and calling it 'sexy sujebi', and once walking a table to a nearby ice-cream shop after they paid. Three posts got extras on the house: corn cheese, kimchi pancake, fried prawns, sujebi. One found her extroversion a lot to keep up with.
  2. No post describes waiting. Four said they walked straight in: a weekday evening with free tables, Sunday around 5 pm with no line, Friday at 8:30 pm with only two tables taken, and an afternoon visit with one or two tables that filled up soon after. One post found it fairly full at 6 pm on a Friday. Another forgot to book and missed the seats they wanted.
  3. Four posts saw the walls and windows covered in celebrity and athlete autographs and photos, one calling it wall-to-wall, another noting even more in the inner room. Claims that particular stars such as BTS's J-Hope are regulars were repeated from elsewhere, so we leave them out.
  4. Four posts noticed the sashimi is cut thick.

  1. Three posts said it isn't cheap; one was a company dinner whose writer said he'd have felt it on his own money. One thought the live shrimp portion was small for the price. A table that drank nine bottles of soju joked that their wallet exploded.

Getting inside

Nobody said what floor it is on. That doesn't mean it's at street level; we just don't know.

Nobody mentioned a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One family went with a child but didn't describe the entrance. The same post says there's a fish tank inside the door, a front room and a larger back room with both tables and floor seating.

Nobody said whether the restroom is inside or whether it's split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 16 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post waited over 30 minutes for oysters before asking; the owner seemed to have forgotten the order. No other post mentions this.
  • Two posts walked from Seongsu Station, 12 minutes from exit 3 by one account, about 15 by another. Nobody described a bus route.
  • Opening hours appear only in copied info blocks. Six posts give 2 pm to 1 am; three of them say Sunday closes at midnight, one says the same hours daily. No one mentions a day off or a mid-day break.
  • Only three prices were written down. Nobody gave the small or medium platter, the shrimp or the stews, so we can't say what a meal costs. One post skipped squid sashimi because the market price was too high.
  • Five posts list the phone number 02-469-5630, all copied from the listing. No one booked ahead; one post regretted not booking.
