It is upstairs, and the entrance is not obvious from the street. Eleven posts mention going up to the second floor. Writers say you have to walk in toward the parking area to see the stairway, that finding the stairs was the main hurdle, and that the door is hard to find after dark; several suggest using the Mamang Gelato shop next door as a landmark.
No post mentions a basement level; every post that mentions the floor says the second floor.
No one says whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in, or whether there is a lift. Several posts describe climbing the stairs of an old villa-style building; that is not proof there is no lift, only that no one mentioned one.
