snowberry

스노우베리 Seunouberi Snowberry is an English word used as-is (a shrub with white berries); here it is the brand name of a strawberry-cake shop that, posts say, grew out of a strawberry farm in Gokseong.

Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →

Snowberry (the Seongsu-guk branch) is a strawberry-cake shop at 95 Dongil-ro, Seongdong-gu, between Seongsu and Konkuk Univ. stations. You pick a slice or a whole cake from the ground-floor showcase and either sit on the first or second floor or collect a cake you booked. Posts give the strawberry cream cake at ₩7,800 a slice, ₩36,000 mini and ₩46,000 for size 1, and the strawberry latte at ₩5,500. December 2025 posts call it newly opened; by summer 2026 melon and fig cakes had joined the line-up. We read 23 posts from 26 December 2025 to 11 September 2026; 4 were about other shops and 14 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Many customers book a whole cake and collect it. Five posts say they booked, three of them through Naver Booking; one says booking at least two hours before pickup gets you a same-day cake, and another managed a 24 December pickup despite asking late. A repeat visitor saw a few size-1 cakes in the showcase for walk-in buyers on both visits.
  2. Prices held steady: a slice of strawberry cream cake was ₩7,800 in both January and August 2026, and three posts agree on ₩36,000 mini and ₩46,000 size 1. Two posts said it was not expensive — a strawberry latte only ₩500 more than a coffee, and a big size-1 cake under ₩50,000. Two others remarked on prices without saying whether they meant dear or cheap.
  3. One post from just after the December 2025 opening says the staff happily let two non-coffee drinkers have cake without ordering drinks, and brought them water. Two other posts mention self-serve water.
  4. Drinks can be slow: a regular says the fresh-fruit drinks are made by hand one at a time and take quite a while. No other post complained of waiting for drinks.

Posts saying you can park3 of 14 posts

Three posts describe the car park behind the building firsthand. One says there are three or four spaces that are often full and suggests the public car park nearby; a visitor who drove explains the entrance is a narrow lane on the Yeongdong Bridge side, between the neighbouring building and a Coupang depot, and that the lot is bigger than expected but can get tangled when busy. A back door leads straight from the lot into the shop. Three posts that only say parking is available were copying listing info, and we did not count them.

Getting inside

Second floor8 of 14 posts

Toilet inside3 of 14 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 14 posts

The shop uses both floors, and eight posts mention sitting upstairs. Downstairs has the kitchen, the counter, a high-stool table and a few small tables; four posts say the second floor, up a staircase beside the showcase, is roomier, with tables set well apart. One visitor went up because the ground floor felt too exposed. One post warns the stairs are quite narrow when you are carrying drinks, and a visitor on 13 August 2026 found the upper floor briefly closed because of a ceiling leak.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. Posts only mention stairs to the second floor, and none mentions a lift — that means nobody wrote about it, not that it is absent.

Three posts place the toilet inside the shop on the second floor, and two say it is separated by sex. One adds that a wall screens it from the seating.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes the walk from a station. One says the bus stop is very close; two copied a distance of about 540 m from exit 6 of Konkuk Univ. station.
  • Only one post mentions waiting, and it walked straight in on a weekend. Nobody else said anything about queues, so we do not know what busy times are like.
  • Five posts give opening hours of 11:00 to 19:00, four of them saying every day. One August 2026 post says 11:00 to 21:00 daily, and a September 2026 post copying the shop's listing says it closes every Sunday. Each appears only once, so we cannot say whether it now closes on Sundays. The same September post says a renovation changed the interior slightly and added strawberry items, but gives no date.
  • Only one post gives a phone number (0507-1338-1578). Three posts booked cakes through Naver Booking; none booked by phone.
  • One post says the original Seongsu shop was being reorganised and this Seongsu-guk branch opened instead; before, you ate the cakes at a partner café, whereas now you can eat in. The posts don't tell us where the old shop was or whether it still operates. A March 2026 post checked in at a Snowberry Seongsu listing at 306 Gwangnaru-ro, and we could not confirm whether it is the same shop.
  • The Gokseong strawberry-farm origin story, the pastry chef's name, the made-fresh-daily claim and the film-festival sponsorship are the shop's own descriptions repeated across posts; we did not count them as evidence.
