Seongsu Budu

성수부두 Budu means a pier or wharf — 'Seongsu Pier'; one post says the room is made to feel like a harbourside.

Compiled from 9 blog posts read in fullSources →

Seongsu Budu is a shellfish house in a basement off Yeonmujang-gil, near exit 4 of Seongsu Station. Grilled, steamed and hot-pot clams are the core, and the leftover broth is finished with noodles. Three posts put the medium grilled platter for two at 57,900 won. It opens in the evening and is a drinking-with-dinner place; three posts say a table seats no more than four. We read 17 posts dated March to October 2026; nine record an actual meal. Six were roundup or TV-recap posts that we did not count, and two were about other restaurants.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff usually do the grilling. Of four posts that had the grilled platter, three say staff cooked it start to finish, stopping by to check each shell; one says a friend did the grilling. Three posts describe the medium arriving in two rounds, the second with both a cream and a tomato pasta.
  2. Something comes out free before the main. Six posts mention it: four a clam broth with green chili, one a plate of raw octopus, spoon worm and abalone, one an abalone.
  3. Waiting is mixed. Seven posts touch on it. Three met a queue: four parties ahead on a weekday evening, a short evening wait, and an earlier attempt abandoned because the line was long. Three others call it a famous queue spot but walked in easily or waited briefly (a Saturday at 7 pm, an arrival at 5:30 pm). You sign up on an app at the door — CatchTable in a March 2026 post, a Tabling kiosk in April. Two posts say it takes no reservations.
  4. The room is small. Five posts say it is not spacious; one counted five or six tables. One post explains the four-per-table limit as a burn-safety rule. Two posts say steamed and grilled tables are separate, so they were seated at once by choosing the steamed dish when grill tables were full.
3 more
  1. Five posts call the staff friendly — one asked for extra wasabi and got a heap of it; another was handed plates when asking to light a birthday cake.
  2. Four posts say portions are large; one says the medium platter plus a noodle bowl is plenty for two, another that the noodle bowl alone is huge.
  3. Three posts went with friends, one with a partner; two came here as a second stop, and one brought a birthday cake.

Getting inside

In a basement4 of 9 posts
Toilet inside2 of 9 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 9 posts

It is down a flight of stairs. Four posts describe it as basement or half-basement, one mentioning the stairs down. Two posts put it a three-to-five-minute walk from exit 4 of Seongsu Station.

No one said whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. One post mentions stairs down; none mentions a lift. That means we don't know, not that there is none.

Two posts say the restroom is inside; one adds it is split by gender and stocked for touch-ups.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 15 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours appear in six diner posts, but all are copied info lines. Five say Mon–Sat 17:00–24:00; one (March 2026) says it opens at 16:00. All six say closed Sundays; five give last order at 22:30.
  • Prices are from posts dated March to August 2026: grilled medium 57,900, octopus shabu 29,900, noodle soup 9,000–9,500, draft beer 8,500 won. The steamed-clam prices (47,900 / 76,900) come from a menu-copying post, not a visit. No one gave a total bill.
  • A phone number appears only in one menu-copying post, so we have not listed it. Two posts say reservations are not taken.
  • Draft beer has changed: an August 2026 post says it had been dropped and Orion draft is back. Earlier posts don't mention it.
  • Among the six uncounted roundup posts are claims like a 'Han River view' or 'briquette fire' that no diner's account supports; we treat them as copied material, not evidence.
