Fried chickenBar

Peon Bieo King

펀비어킹 A coined name made of the English words fun, beer and king written in Hangul; regulars shorten it to Beer King.

Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →

A beer hall right outside Exit 1 of Seongsu Station, at 93 Achasan-ro, with seating on two floors and street tables put out in the evening. Posts mostly order the flaky square pizza, fried chicken, soju-beer towers and an iced fruit punch piled high with shaved ice, and most people arrive as a second stop after dinner elsewhere. Only two posts gave prices: a squid seafood stew at 20,900 won and sea-snail noodles at 17,900 won (March 2025), and fried chicken at 18,900 won, 13,000 won during happy hour until 7 pm (September 2025). We read 26 posts from February 2025 to October 2026. Sixteen are about this branch, and 15 of those describe an actual visit. The rest cover other branches with the same name, or the optician on the fourth floor of the same building.

What sets it apart

  1. It has regulars. Five posts describe coming back: one writer used to come every week after work, another called it her hometown bar, and an office team ended all three of its Seongsu dinners here.
  2. Seven posts went with friends and two with a work team or large group. Five said they came for the second round after dinner elsewhere, and one dropped in after 1 a.m. as the last stop of the night.
  3. A free bar snack comes to the table: corn puffs in one post, popcorn in two. One writer noted it was freshly popped, and another got popcorn and peanuts refilled.
  4. There are outdoor tables. Three posts mention street seating set out in the evening, and a fourth only guessed that it appears in warmer weather.
1 more
  1. No one called it expensive. Three posts said the opposite: good value, kind prices, fair prices with big portions. One found the beer cheaper than at the izakaya next door, and one post describes a happy-hour discount before 7 pm.

The most ordered dish is peseucheuri pija (페스츄리 피자) — 6 of 14 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

There is an upstairs. Two posts describe both floors. One mentions window seats and big group tables upstairs. The other usually sat upstairs, but arrived around 5 pm to find it not yet open and ate downstairs, so early in the evening only the ground floor may be open.

We don't know whether there is a step at the door, whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, or whether the upper floor is reachable only by stairs. No one wrote about it.

Only one post mentions the toilets: separate men's and women's, upstairs. We don't know how ground-floor guests get there or whether there is another toilet.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 15 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts place it in front of Seongsu Station Exit 1, but nobody described the walk from the station or a bus stop.
  • No post mentions waiting. That doesn't mean there is never a wait, only that nobody wrote about one. One post went right at opening to catch happy hour.
  • Opening hours come from one post that copied them as daily 4 pm to 3 am, and no other post confirms them. One visitor found the upper floor closed around 5 pm, and another stopped by after 1 a.m.
  • The phone number 02-499-9695 and the note that bookings and groups are accepted were copied into one post. No one wrote about actually booking.
  • Only two posts, from March and September 2025, gave prices, and nobody priced the most-ordered items like the pizza, the soju-beer tower or the fruit punch. We can't say what a typical night costs.
  • Fun Beer King has many branches. We set aside six posts about the Gangnam, Jongam-dong, Seodaemun, Magok, Ganghwa and Yeongdeungpo branches. The closure mentioned in one post was the Gangnam branch, not this one.
