Oppane Yennal Tteokbokki
오빠네옛날떡볶이 Oppane yennal tteokbokki means "big brother's old-fashioned tteokbokki" — a chain that, by its own account, began in Sinchon in 1994.
Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →
The Seongsu branch of a tteokbokki chain, on Yeonmujang 7ga-gil toward Exit 3 of Seongsu Station. The tteokbokki comes in a pot that you simmer on an induction burner at the table, with sundae, mixed fritters, fish cake and mini gimbap on the side. Three posts from June–July 2026 put a portion of tteokbokki at 4,500 won; fritters were 5,000 won and a tteokbokki-sundae-fritter-drink set 16,000 won. We read 18 posts from 30 March to 16 September 2026; one was about the Ilsan branch and was set aside, and 15 of the remaining 17 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You order from a machine. Seven posts said so — four mention a tablet at the table, two a kiosk, and one "unmanned ordering, card only." Several add that water, pickled radish and soy sauce are self-serve.
- This is mild, sweet tteokbokki. Four posts said it is not spicy — one said not at all — and none called it hot; six called it sweet. One post notes you can choose a spicy version.
- There are seats for solo diners. Of the five posts that described the seating, three mention one-person seats and one mentions bar seats alongside tables. Two posts mention outdoor tables out front, and one family ate there with their children.
- Four posts remarked on the number of foreign customers. One says the menu is also in Chinese and English, and another that it has photos.
1 more
- Four posts said it is an easy walk from Seongsu Station; three put it at about three minutes from Exit 3.

Parking is listed as unavailable, but mostly in copied info blocks — four posts did that, and one sponsored post advised using a nearby public lot. No one actually arrived by car.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

We don't know the floor. The address says ground floor, but no visitor wrote about it.
One post said they brought a stroller and it worked because the inside is roomier than it looks. Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance — that means unknown, not step-free.
One post, a sponsored one, says the toilet is inside at the back. Nobody said whether it is separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 17 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Saltiness splits one to one: one post found it far too salty, while another said the Seongsu branch was less salty than other branches and just right for children.
- The three posts that praised the staff are the same three that called the place clean. Two of them disclose sponsorship, and all three share the same stock phrases and hashtags. No other post commented on service or cleanliness.
- Prices may have changed. Three posts from June–July 2026 give 4,500 won for tteokbokki; one September post gives 5,000 won. With a single later post we can't say for sure it went up. For a meal, three friends paid 18,000 won for tteokbokki, sundae, fritters and mini gimbap; two people paid 16,000 won for a set.
- Waiting is unclear. One weekend-afternoon visit and one weekday visit around 6:30 pm had no wait. A September post said it was packed but tables turned over fast. No post gave a wait time at lunch.
- Two posts came with friends and two came with children. No post clearly said they went alone.
- Opening hours: all eight visitor posts that gave hours said 11:00–21:00, five of them "daily." Five of those were copied info blocks, and one post also gave a 20:00 close further down. No post mentions a closing day, a break or a last order.
- Four posts list the phone number 0507-1425-1124. Nobody said whether it takes reservations.
