Onigiriwa Igyudong

오니기리와이규동 The name reads as 'onigiri and gyudong' — Japanese rice balls and beef-on-rice bowls, the two things this chain is built around.

Compiled from 5 blog posts read in fullSources →

The Seongsu branch of the Onigiri-wa-Igyudong chain, on Seongsuil-ro 12-gil about five minutes' walk from Exit 1 of Seongsu Station. It serves gyudong, beef curry bowls, udon and onigiri at single-bowl prices: a March 2026 post lists gyudong at 6,000 won, onigiri at 1,800-2,500 won, seafood yaki udon at 7,000 won and chicken curry bowl at 12,000 won, and a November 2024 post priced a two-person set (gyudong, udon, two onigiri) at 16,000 won. Ordering is now done on a table-order device at each seat. We read 10 posts from November 2024 to September 2026; two were about other branches (Busan and Pangyo) and were set aside. Of the remaining eight, seven describe actually eating here and one is a roundup copied from the listing.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order from a device at your seat; two posts say so. A November 2024 post noted the shop used to be pay-at-the-counter and had just installed card-paying table-order units at every seat, with cash still going to the owner. An April 2025 post also found a tablet on each table.
  2. Two posts found the seasoning light, but drew opposite conclusions: a March 2026 post liked that it made sharing several dishes easy, while an April 2025 post said the gyudong had almost no sauce, even on the rice, and said it would not return.
  3. Three posts called the prices easy on the wallet — 'reasonable', 'not a burden', 'good value' — and none called it expensive.
  4. No one wrote of queuing. Two posts walked straight in — one at 9 p.m., one at noon on a weekday when the room was empty. No post describes a peak lunch or dinner rush.

  1. Draft beer is sold; two posts framed it as a spot for a beer with a light meal, and one said many solo customers come in just for a snack and a glass.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor or the way in from experience; only the address says ground floor. One post called the room small, another found it a little dark on entering.

No one mentioned an entrance step or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits through. That means we don't know, not that there is none.

No post says whether the toilet is inside the shop or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 6 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Speed of service splits one to one: an April 2026 post waited close to 20 minutes for food, while a March 2026 post said dishes came out quickly.
  • The ordering system changed: up to around November 2024 it was pay first at the counter; posts since then describe a table-order device at each seat.
  • Three posts give the same opening hours (Mon-Fri 10:00-23:00, Sun 11:00-23:00, closed Saturdays, last order 22:30), but all are copied info blocks. An April 2025 post lists Saturday 11:00-23:00 instead, and the March 2026 post that lists Saturday as closed also says it visited on a Saturday at 9 p.m., so we cannot tell from the posts whether it opens on Saturdays.
  • Prices come from different dates: gyudong at 6,000 won and the onigiri prices are from March 2026, the 16,000-won set from November 2024, and the naengmomil, kimchi-nabe and butadon figures were copied from the listing by a roundup, so we do not lean on them. No post gave a total for one meal.
  • Only one post said who it came with (a lunch date with a husband). Some posts noted many solo diners, but those writers did not say they went alone.
  • Two posts give the same phone number, 02-499-0290. No one said whether reservations are taken.
  • This is a branch of a chain; posts about the Busan Centum Star and Pangyo branches turned up in our search but were not counted here.
