Namyeongdong Yangmun Seongsu-jeom

남영동양문 성수점 Namyeong-dong is the Yongsan neighbourhood where the first Yangmun opened; one visitor read Yangmun on the sign as 兩門, 'two gates'.

Compiled from 7 blog posts read in fullSources →

Namyeongdong Yangmun's Seongsu branch, at 51 Seongsu-iro, grills beef short rib and pork galbi over charcoal. Staff bring the coals and you cook the meat yourself; a hangover soup and a taster bowl of cold noodles come with the meat. We read 16 posts dated 14 May to 20 September 2026, and 7 of them describe an actual visit. We set aside 6 that were about other branches (the original in Namyeong-dong, Euljiro, Seodaemun) or other restaurants, and 3 are only introductions or list entries. The one full receipt came to 90,800 won: two portions of beef rib meat at 37,800, the Hanwoo brisket-and-tartare set at 39,000, radish-kimchi fried rice at 8,000 and a Cheongha at 6,000.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order from a tablet at the table. Three posts said so, and one added that extra side dishes are ordered the same way.
  2. One post says the first order must be at least three portions per meat item; the two friends in that post settled for three portions of marinated rib. No other post mentioned the rule.
  3. Staff light the grill but you do the cooking; one diner followed instructions posted on the wall.
  4. Evenings fill with reservations. Two posts mention booking: one arrived at 5 pm to find most tables already reserved and recommends booking, the other came through a Naver reservation.
2 more
  1. Only one post covers waiting: a family of three walked straight in at lunch on the 1 May holiday, and a queue formed outside right after. Nobody gave a wait time.
  2. One weekday-evening visitor noticed many foreign customers, and another post describes bringing a foreign friend.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post says which floor the room is on or whether there are stairs; the '1st floor' in the address is registered data, not anyone's observation.

We don't know whether the entrance has a step or takes a wheelchair or pram; nobody wrote about it.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside or split by gender — not that there isn't one, just that no one mentioned it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 10 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Sweetness splits one to one: the pork galbi struck one diner as sweetish, while another found the garlic beef rib not sweet at all. They were different dishes.
  • Just one post mentions the staff, unfavourably, saying they looked at their phones and were unfriendly; it was a passing remark in a review of a nearby restaurant, with no visit date. No post called the staff friendly.
  • One of the seven visitors called the food so-so and left disappointed; the rest were satisfied.
  • '463 m from Seongsu Station exit 3' appears in two posts, copied from the listing; nobody described walking from the station, so we don't count it.
  • 'Pets allowed' appears only in one copied listing block; no one went with a pet.
  • Company is mixed: two posts went with friends, one with family and a primary-school daughter.
  • Opening hours: two posts give daily 11:30-22:00 with a 15:00-17:00 break and last order at 21:10, but both copied them from the listing; a third gives only 11:30-22:00 every day. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Prices rest on a single receipt from May 2026 (90,800 won for two). The 28,000 won per portion for bone-in short rib comes from a promotional post with no visit, so other prices are unknown.
  • The phone number 0507-1384-9094 appears in one post, copied from the listing. One diner booked same-day through Naver; nobody reported booking by phone.
