MOKROE

목로 Mongno Mokro (木爐) is explained in the posts as a long, narrow wooden plank table — the house's Korean word for a bar.

Compiled from 21 blog posts read in fullSources →

A bar on the ground floor of Yeonmujang 7ga-gil, a three-to-five-minute walk from Seongsu Station exit 4. The sign just says Mokroe; most posts call it Dining Mokroe Seongsu. It serves Korean-Japanese drinking food: the beef gopchang hotpot (₩32,000) is the most talked-about dish, followed by meat-stuffed fried eggplant (₩19,000), salmon and beef tataki (₩39,000) and a set of the first two (₩50,000). You order by QR code at the table and a plate of fried fish cake arrives first on the house. We read 30 posts from October 2024 to October 2026; 8 were about the separate Apgujeong branch and one was a list of beer bars, leaving 21 posts from people who visited this Seongsu location.

Rows without a count: 18 of 19 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. A free starter comes to every table: 16 of the 21 posts mention it, mostly as fried fish cake dusted with a spicy seasoning. An August 2025 post says it is always refilled.
  2. Ordering is by QR code at the table — 14 posts say so, and one notes you pay at the end. One writer found more items on the QR menu than on the Naver listing.
  3. Four posts say the portions are large — enough for two, with gopchang left over after the rice was gone. Four also say the offal had no off smell.
  4. Five posts call the hotpot broth spicy; one says it is not especially hot. It reads as warmly spiced rather than fiery.

  1. The front is floor-to-ceiling glass — four posts mention it. Four call the room spacious and three note the open kitchen.

Getting inside

Toilet inside2 of 21 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 21 posts read)

Beyond the '1st floor' in the address, no post describes the floor; we have no first-hand account of it.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That is unknown, not a no.

Two posts say the restroom is inside the bar; the October 2026 one describes a single unisex stall that was clean.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waits are split two to two. In November 2024 one couple found one party ahead of them at 6 p.m. on a Friday and got in within ten minutes; another got the last two-top late on a Sunday as a queue formed behind them. Two others walked straight in — the October 2026 writer at 6:50 p.m., though the room was full before 8. Five posts say you can book through Naver or CatchTable.
  • Nineteen posts list opening hours, all copied from the listing: 18 agree on 4 p.m.–1 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 4 p.m.–2 a.m. Friday and Saturday; one from February 2025 gives 4 p.m.–1 a.m. daily. An October 2024 post copies 'no regular closing day'. An August 2025 post says the hours had been extended, but earlier posts already show the same times, so we cannot tell what changed.
  • Dish prices are well documented and unchanged from October 2024 to September 2026 (hotpot ₩32,000), but no post gives a total bill for a meal with drinks. Booking discounts and review rewards are mostly relayed from the shop's own notices; three posts say they actually received the free traditional liquor for leaving a review.
  • Nearly every post gives the phone number as 0507-1340-5180; one from October 2026 gives 02-498-5180. Bookings are taken via Naver and CatchTable; one writer was told groups of five or more are hard to book, which we treat as hearsay.
  • Some posts follow a template: one from December 2024 discloses sponsorship, six carry the same block of promotional keywords, and a September 2026 post is written as shop copy with a Q&A, so we did not count its claims. Eight posts about the separate Apgujeong branch were set aside.
