Bakery

Maison de Margarett

메종드마가레뜨 Mejong deu Magarette French for 'Margarett's house'; the shop sells a margarett (margaret) butter cookie, though no post explains the name.

A tiny shop on a corner of Yeonmujang 3-gil 14 in Seongsu-dong, next to the Seongsu shoe-theme park, with a giant pink bow over the door. Today it is a cookie shop: butter cookies in jars (galette bretonne, ribbon butter cookies, cat cookies) plus plates and mugs painted with cats and ribbons, all to take away — one post calls it a takeout-only shop. Recorded prices: a cat cookie at 8,500 won (April 2026) and 9,500 won (September 2026), an apple margarett at 5,500 won, and a jar of cookies in the low-to-mid 10,000s. Until October 2025 it was a bakery selling morningle rolls, ribbon bread and salt bread; from December 2025 the posts find the bread gone and cookies in its place. We read 28 posts from 14 July 2025 to 17 September 2026; 19 of them describe a visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven of the visit posts call the owner kind — six after the switch to cookies, one from the bakery days. They say why: she explains each cookie's flavor one by one and hands out tasting cookies. One visitor got a whole cookie rather than a piece; another, buying a gift for her mother, was given a card to write a note on.
  2. The shop is small. Four posts say so and none say otherwise — one says a single 360-degree look covers the whole room, another that browsing was over quickly. One post notes there is no seating; it is takeout only.

These are raw counts, not percentages. Someone who did not mention something is not someone who disagreed.

The most ordered dish is ribonppang (리본빵(리본파이)) — 2 of 14 posts.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Where it is

Map showing where Maison de Margarett is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post says from experience what floor the shop is on; there is only the '1st floor, unit 1' in the address and remarks that the inside is visible from the street.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits; the two posts by parents with children do not say either. That means nobody wrote about it, not that access is impossible.

No post mentions a restroom.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 22 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Only one post, from April 2026, mentions waiting: the shop lets in one party at a time, so she queued outside until the group ahead left. The others say nothing about waiting — which means no one wrote about it, not that there is never a wait.
  • Opinions on price split by period. A September 2025 post from the bakery days found 3,800 won for black-pepper salt bread a bit much; two posts after the switch to cookies felt the stollen at 31,000 won and the cookies were fair for the ingredients. One more found the cat cookie pricey but large, without a verdict. The cat cookie was recorded at 8,500 won in April 2026 and 9,500 won in September 2026; two posts are not enough to say the price went up.
  • The shop changed in late 2025. Posts up to October 2025 describe a bakery selling morningle rolls, ribbon bread and salt bread; a December 2025 post found the bread gone and the menu switched to cookies, and an April 2026 post says it had been shut for a few months before reopening as a cookie shop. One post says the owner told her bread stopped three years ago, but that does not fit the other posts, so we treat it as hearsay. Nothing said about the bread is used to describe the shop as it is now.
  • Opening hours: four posts from March-April 2026 agree on Tuesday-Sunday 11:00-18:00, closed Mondays (two of them in a copied info box). One May 2026 post gives daily 11:00-19:00 with a 14:00-15:00 break instead. A December 2025 post had Tuesday-Sunday 9:00-19:00, and a July 2025 post from the bakery days had 9:00-19:00.
  • No post gives a phone number — one leaves the phone line in its info box blank — and none mention reservations.
  • Directions from the station appear only in copied info boxes — six minutes' walk from Seongsu or Ttukseom station (April 2026), five minutes from Seongsu exit 4 (December 2025) — so we did not count them. No post mentions a bus.
  • Only four posts say who they came with: two with children, two with friends. None mention going alone or on a date.
