Korean

Jeongdeun Sikdang

정든식당 Jeongdeun means 'grown fond of' or 'become dear through familiarity' — a restaurant you get attached to; several posts play on the name.

Compiled from 13 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jeongdeun Sikdang is a Korean noodle-and-bossam restaurant on the second floor of S-Factory building C, a short walk from Seongsu Station exit 3 along Yeonmujang 15-gil. The dishes that come up most are the Jeongdeun guksu (rice noodles with sliced black pork, 10,000 won) and the bossam set (boiled pork, napa cabbage, soup and rice on a tray, 13,000 won). You order by QR code at the table and fetch rice and side dishes from a self-serve bar; in the evening it is also described as a place to drink over beef tartare and tofu kimchi. We read 21 posts from September 2025 to September 2026, 16 of them actual visits; three posts about a same-name noodle shop in Sokcho were set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Ordering is by QR code at the table; five posts describe it and one names Toss QR. One says you can pay after eating. One post found the welcome lacking — nobody greeted or seated them on arrival — and guessed it was because orders are self-service.
  2. Rice at the self-serve bar is free, and four posts went back for more rice or sides. What the bar holds varied: scallion kimchi, pickled onion and white kimchi in September 2025; pickled onion, fresh cabbage kimchi and aged kimchi in September 2026; one July 2026 post found only pickled onion.
  3. Writing a review gets you free fried dumplings; three posts received them, one describing one kimchi and one pork dumpling.
  4. Four posts call the portions large; one put a bowl of Jeongdeun guksu at about 1.7 servings, another said it kept them full until dinner.
3 more
  1. Four posts say the boiled pork has no gamey smell, though one found it merely ordinary rather than especially tender. The Berkshire-K breed claim is copied from the shop's own signage.
  2. There is seated waiting space inside; three posts mention it, one describing sofa seats.
  3. Five posts walked from Seongsu Station, putting it at 3, 4, 5 and 5-6 minutes from exit 3.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 13 posts
Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 1 (of 13 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 13 posts

The restaurant is up one flight of stairs. Five posts mention climbing to the second floor, and one states there is no elevator.

No post entered with a wheelchair or stroller. One says access is by stairs with no elevator; another thought it could be hard for people with limited mobility. Nobody mentioned a step at the door.

One post says first-hand that the toilet is inside the restaurant. That it is unisex appears only in another post's copied info block.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 15 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts mention a wait: one team ahead at about 12:20 on a weekday, and a full waiting bench at lunch. The rest say nothing, and one July 2026 post felt the large room keeps waits short.
  • Opinions on price split: one post found it pricier than expected, two called it good value (two people, four items, 29,000 won). The beef tartare bibimbap went from 13,000 won in September 2025 to 14,000 won by February 2026; the bossam set stayed at 13,000 won from September 2025 to July 2026.
  • All opening hours are copied from listings. Five posts agree on 11:00-22:00 weekdays and 12:00-22:00 weekends. A September 2025 post gave a weekday break of 15:00-17:00 and last order 21:00; posts from 2026 give 14:30-17:00 and 20:30. Only one post says there is no weekend break. No one mentions a closing day.
  • Five posts give the same phone number, 0507-1495-0831. None says whether reservations are taken — that means unknown, not no.
  • Three posts found the food just average — 'edible enough', 'honestly fairly ordinary', 'not special, fine for lunch'.
  • Staff impressions split one to one: one post found them friendly, another got no greeting or guidance on entry.
  • Speed of service splits: one post says to expect about 15 minutes after ordering, another found the food came quickly.
  • One post is written in a promotional style with clip-challenge tags, and one is a food photographer's record of a shoot for the shop, which we did not count as a visit. A review cross-posted by the same author to two blogs was counted once.
