IZZA

이짜 Ijja Izza is "pizza" with the P dropped; the house uses the word for its line of pizzas on black charcoal dough.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

IZZA is a wood-fired pizza and pasta place on a side street (Gwangnaru-ro 4ga-gil), about 500 m from Seongsu Station exit 1. It splits its pizzas into "Izza" on black dough made with edible bamboo charcoal and "Pizza" on classic Neapolitan dough. Posts list pizzas at 21,000–30,000 won, pastas at 25,000–29,000 won, and a weekday-only lunch set for two at 65,000 won. You order by QR code at the table. The most-ordered dishes were the anchovy pasta (16 posts) and the jambon pizza (14). We read 30 posts from August 23 to October 5, 2026; leaving out 3 about the nearby taco shop Bottari Taco, all 27 are visits to this restaurant.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The kitchen is open, so you can watch pizzas go into the wood-fired oven. Eleven posts said so and none said otherwise; many treated it as something to watch while waiting. Some also mentioned firewood stacked at the entrance.
  2. Waits vary. Four posts waited and five walked straight in. The only stated time is 20 minutes on a weekday evening; a repeat visitor wrote that the lunch wait is "really long." The five who didn't wait came at weekday opening or early lunch, on rainy weekends, or at 1:30 pm on a Sunday.
  3. Thirteen posts booked or tried to book, via CatchTable or Naver. One warned that Naver shows slots that are already full, so CatchTable is more accurate; another said online booking only covers up to four people, so their party of five had to walk in.
  4. Ordering is by the QR code on the table — fourteen posts said so. One noted that you pay at the end.
5 more
  1. It is not a quiet room. Four posts described it as busy or echoing, and none called it quiet. Two said voices echo enough that you have to talk louder; another said the music and buzz felt lively in a good way.
  2. Five posts said the room is bigger than it looks from outside. One said it is small and fills up quickly, and some found the tables close together.
  3. Six posts called the staff friendly. Several said servers explained how to eat things — dip the crust in the prawn sauce, eat the pizza by hand rather than with a knife.
  4. Most who commented found it pricey: five posts said expensive, one said it was in line with other pizza-and-pasta places in Seongsu. One noted that a pizza plus a pasta for two goes over 50,000 won.
  5. The turnip pickle (4,000 won) is not served by default. Five posts got it free by writing a review.

Parking

5 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot5 of 27 posts

There is no parking at the restaurant — five posts said so in their own words, all pointing to the Seongsu 2-ga 3-dong public lot a minute or three away (usually listed at 150 won per 5 minutes, 1,800 won an hour; one post said 1,200 won). Experiences of the lot differ: one regular always found space across four visits including weekends, while another called parking there hell and advised arriving 40 minutes early.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read)

Only one post said in its own words that the restaurant is on the ground floor; otherwise we only have the address.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That doesn't mean there isn't access — no one wrote about it.

We don't know whether the restroom is inside or separated by gender. Gender-separated restrooms appear only in copied listing info; no one described them firsthand.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours are almost all copied from listings. The most common version: weekdays 11:30–22:00 (break 15:00–17:30, lunch last order 14:00), weekends 12:00–22:00 (break 15:30–17:30, last order 14:30), dinner last order 20:30. Three posts said it opens at 11:30 every day, and one said the break ends at 17:00. No post mentioned a closing day.
  • Prices for the same dish differ by 1,000 won between posts (jambon pizza 30,000 vs 29,000; anchovy pasta 28,000 vs 27,000). The difference doesn't line up with dates, so we don't read it as a price change.
  • Seven posts gave the phone number as 0507-1402-7495 and two as 070-4900-0433. Most booked through CatchTable or Naver; one phoned ahead to ask about a table.
  • We don't know the corkage policy: one post says it's free, a copied listing says it's allowed for a fee, and no one actually brought a bottle.
  • Two posts from October 4 and 5 share the same title pattern ("Seongsu date spot Izza … lunch set review"), walk through the same courses in the same order, and say nothing about sponsorship — possibly promotional copy. Six posts said they paid their own way.
