Geumgeum

금금 The sign shows the Hanja 今 (geum, 'now'); the name repeats that syllable twice.

Compiled from 17 blog posts read in fullSources →

Geumgeum's Seongsu branch is a small modern-Korean place on the ground floor of a building in an alley off Seongsui-ro 12-gil. The usual order is the barley-doenjang noodles (13,500 won), octopus soy bibimbap (14,000 won) and the shrimp-and-roe potato pancake (19,000 won); pairs typically got two bowls and one pancake. Ordering is by QR code or tablet at the table. We read 30 posts dated June 29 to October 5, 2026. Ten were about other branches (Songridan-gil, Yongsan I'Park Mall, Starfield Suwon, Grand Seoul) and were set aside; we counted 19 visits to the Seongsu branch and one list post.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Waiting depends on timing. Three posts waited — over 20 minutes on a weekday lunch with three groups ahead, about 15 minutes on a Saturday around 1–2 pm, and about 30 minutes at lunch on a public holiday. Six walked straight in, at times like 11:40 on a weekend, 2 pm on a weekend and 7:30 pm on a Sunday. There is a CatchTable kiosk at the door; one post says you pick your dishes when you join the queue.
  2. It is a small room. Seven posts called it tight or cosy; those that counted put it at five or six tables, or seven or eight, about half of them two-seaters. Two mention one large table at the back for six to eight. Three found it calm enough to talk easily.
  3. Six posts ordered at the table by QR code, T-order tablet or NFC tag; one noted there is no paper menu and thought older diners on their own might struggle.
  4. Six posts wrote a Naver receipt review and received a small plate of boiled pork; one notes that this means paying up front, since the review needs the receipt.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 17 posts read)

The registered address says ground floor, but no visitor wrote about the floor from experience — we simply don't know beyond the address.

No one mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Several describe the room as tight, so it is worth checking ahead.

Only one post mentions the toilet: it is outside the restaurant and needs a door code. No one said whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 18 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Portions split opinion: three posts found them generous, two found them a bit small next to other places, and one called them just right for one. Several suggest two mains plus a pancake for two people.
  • Three posts found the seasoning moderate; one said the barley-doenjang noodles were quite salty and heavy.
  • All eight posts that gave hours list 11:00–21:00; seven put the weekday break at 15:00–17:00 and four the last order at 20:20. Two say there is no break on weekends. A single June 29, 2026 post gave a weekday break of 15:30–17:00 and a weekend break of 16:00–17:00 — we can't tell whether it changed since. No post mentions a regular closing day.
  • Prices held steady across posts from June to September 2026 (barley-doenjang noodles 13,500 won, perilla-oil noodles 10,500, potato pancake 19,000). The menu does rotate: a late-September post found the gochujang beef noodles it had eaten before were gone.
  • Four posts list the phone as 0507-1418-4477; one gave 0507-1382-7019. Some posts say Naver and CatchTable reservations are possible, but none described actually booking.
  • Geumgeum is a chain, so posts about the Songridan-gil, Yongsan I'Park Mall, Starfield Suwon and Grand Seoul branches turn up too; we kept their waits, parking and hours off this page.
