Geullori Kalguksu

글로리칼국수 Geullori is the English word 'glory' written in Hangul — the sign pairs it with the hanja 榮光 (yeonggwang, glory) — and kalguksu is knife-cut noodle soup.

A two-storey chicken kalguksu and samgyetang house on Achasan-ro 7-gil, just north of Seongsu Station exit 1. Most people order the cauldron chicken kalguksu (12,000 won) or the boyang samgye baekban set (16,000 won); there is also samgyetang (19,000), a black-sesame version (21,000) and shared dishes like octopus pancake and bossam. We read 29 posts dated 31 July to 4 October 2026; 18 describe an actual visit (3 were about other places, 8 were introductions or list entries we did not count). Four posts said it is an easy walk from the station.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Five posts found the portions large; one said the samgyetang was not. Half a chicken in the kalguksu comes up repeatedly, though one post described closer to a quarter.
  2. Four posts say you can take more kimchi. Fresh kimchi and white kimchi are at a self-serve station; two posts note the radish kkakdugi has to be requested or only comes with the baekban set. One table went through three bowls.
  3. Four posts said the chicken had no off smell, and several noted it was tender enough to come off the bone easily.
  4. Four posts noticed many foreign diners; another brought friends visiting from Singapore.

  1. Four posts found the staff friendly — one was walked through how to eat the baekban set, another singled out a manager by description.

The most ordered dish is gamasot dak-kalguksu (가마솥 닭칼국수) — 10 of 17 posts.

Only one post describes parking first-hand: no lot, but they found a spot out front. Advice to use the Seongnak church pay lot or the Seongsu 2-ga 3-dong public lot comes from copied info blocks.

Getting inside

Second floor10 of 17 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 17 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 17 posts

Ten posts mention the second floor. Two were sent upstairs because the ground floor was full, and one saw a private room up there. Five posts called the place spacious.

We don't know about the entrance step, wheelchair or stroller access, or whether the second floor is reached by stairs or a lift — nobody wrote about it. Five posts describe ground-floor seating, so it is not a basement space.

One post found the toilet inside the restaurant and clean. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in two copied info blocks, so we did not count them.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 8 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-08-062 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting is mixed. Two posts say the lunch rush fills it fast; one says it is easier to get in now that both floors are open; three mention peak-time queues but walked straight in themselves. Nobody gave a wait in minutes. Two posts saw benches outside for waiting, and one booked through Naver the day before.
  • Seven posts give opening hours of 11:00–21:40 daily, four with last order at 21:00, but all of it is copied listing data. Five promotional-looking posts say it closes at 22:00, and one list post says it opens at 11:30.
  • Samgyetang prices disagree: three posts copying the menu say 19,000 won, while one from 10 August 2026 says 23,000 and called it pricey for Seoul. Two posts in all found the samgyetang expensive. The kalguksu at 12,000 and the baekban at 16,000 are consistent everywhere.
  • Phone numbers vary: 0507-1313-4385 appears in six posts, three different mobile numbers once each. Posts say bookings go through Naver or CatchTable, but two note a sign saying no reservations at peak lunch.
  • Two early-September 2026 posts say the kalguksu noodles had just been changed; that is what the restaurant told them, so we can't say exactly what changed or when. Separately, five early-August posts share the same phrasing in the same order with no prices or times, so we left them out of the counts.
