GEBANGSIKDANG

게방식당 Gebang Sikdang Ge means crab and sikdang means eatery; the posts do not explain the 'bang' part of the name.

Compiled from 7 blog posts read in fullSources →

A soy-marinated crab restaurant in basement unit B108 of The Live Sejong Tower, 126 Achasan-ro, near Seongsu Station. It is the Seongsu branch of Gebang Sikdang, which started in Gangnam. The crab set is priced at market rate; a September 2026 visitor paid ₩45,000 per person, while people who would rather not shell a crab order the ₩27,000 crab-roe rice bowl (two posts). Each diner gets their own tray of crab, rice, seaweed soup and sides such as kimchi pancake, salad and gamtae. We read 30 posts dated 10 November 2025 to 4 October 2026. We set aside 12 that were about the Gangnam or Busan branches or a different shop in the same building, did not count 11 info or list posts, and seven describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Most of the diners are visitors from abroad. Four of the seven visitors said so — everyone but them was foreign, the next tables were all tourists. One noted English and Japanese menus, another that the staff spoke fluent English.
  2. You order by scanning a QR code at your seat. Four of the seven visitors mentioned it; one said the code is stuck to the end of the table, and another noted that prices on the QR menu may change.
  3. The seasoning runs light. Three visitors said it was not salty, and all three hedged: one found it maybe a little bland, one wished the shrimp were saltier, one warned the salmon bowl could taste flat. No one called it salty.
  4. No one called the portions generous; two said they were small. One counted five shrimp in the shrimp set and felt it was little for the price; another said the crab-roe bowl was a bit small but fine with the rice.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

Getting inside

In a basement3 of 7 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 7 posts

It is on the first basement level. Three visitors said so. One warned that the sign is hard to see from the street, so follow the signs down; another said you come down by stairs or lift.

No one wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. One post mentions a lift down to the basement. This means we don't know, not that there is none.

No one wrote about where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 18 posts we gathered, 11 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-02-112 posts in one day
2026-02-072 posts in one day
2026-02-062 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Seating comes from single posts. One found the high chairs uncomfortable. Another described one six-seat private room, solo window seats with a bag basket and a power socket, and a dining room that is not large.
  • No visitor described the walk from the station. Two posts list 'Seongsu Station exit 3', but as copied info lines, so we don't rely on them.
  • Only one visitor mentioned waiting: on a Saturday in October 2026 they were told to wait 20 minutes despite empty tables, then the owner seated them anyway. The other six posts say nothing about waiting.
  • Company varies: friends in two posts, a partner, a sibling and a group of three in one each; two posts don't say.
  • Opening hours come only from copied info lines, and they disagree. Three posts give Tuesday to Sunday 11:30-21:00, closed Mondays, but the afternoon break ends at 17:00 in one and 17:30 in two. One post says open daily but closed Sundays, which looks mixed up with the Gangnam branch. One person found it shut on 1 January 2026.
  • Prices follow the market. The crab set was 'in the ₩40,000s' in November 2025 and ₩45,000 in September 2026; the crab-roe bowl went from 'in the ₩20,000s' to ₩27,000 in two 2026 posts. One visitor said at that price it had better be good. Price tables in Gangnam-focused info posts are not used.
  • The Seongsu number, 0507-1484-1412, appears in two posts. No visitor said they booked ahead; one mentioned the six-seat room can be reserved under certain conditions.
  • Many posts under the same name are about the Gangnam flagship or the Busan branch; we set aside 12. Details like Gangnam's front-door parking, counter seats or the signed Son Heung-min shirt do not belong to this branch. The 'eight or nine years in the Michelin guide' line is the brand's own claim and is not counted.
