다모토리혼 Damotorihon Damotori is an old native Korean word for drinking soju from a big cup, or the tavern where you do it; hon means soul — the house says it puts its soul into each drink and dish.

Damotori Hon is a traditional-liquor restaurant-bar on the second floor of a building in the lane between exits 1 and 2 of Seongsu Station. It opens at 4 pm. People order dishes like raw beef, seafood platters, stews and stir-fries at 20,000–60,000 won, and drink Korean traditional liquor poured over a large square ice cube. The most-ordered dish is the seasoned raw beef with avocado (35,000 won, twelve posts); the most-ordered drinks are Igangju (nine) and Hansan Sogokju 300 (eight). Of the posts that said who they came with, eight came with friends, eight with a partner or spouse, and two with work groups. We read 30 posts from July 2025 to October 2026; 28 describe an actual visit. Twenty-six of them were published in the two months after 6 August 2026.

What sets it apart
- Twenty-four posts said it is a short walk from Seongsu Station, usually two or three minutes from exit 2. The entrance, though, is tucked inside on the left side of the building, through the car-park passage, and first-timers keep getting lost — one post says a friend couldn't find the door, another got lost on a rainy evening.
- Sixteen posts said a free starter of seasoned seaweed stems and radish salad arrives when you sit down; several singled out the slightly spicy seaweed as good enough to drink with on its own.
- Nineteen posts described the room as large, with tables from four-seaters up to group tables for ten or more. The "up to 100 guests" figure is the bar's own claim, repeated in many posts. One writer saw a group of about twelve there.

No parking. Eight posts said the building's car park can't be used and pointed to the paid lot at Yeongdong Techno Tower a minute away — usually quoted at 500 won per ten minutes, though one post wrote 3,000 won an hour.

Eighteen posts noted the bar is on the second floor. Five said they took the lift; three described walking up the stairs.
Only one post addressed wheelchair access: in July 2025 a writer said there was no step at the door and it was easy to get in by wheelchair. Five posts mentioned the lift. No later post checked the entrance again.
The toilets are outside the bar. Two posts said you use the building's toilets, but they disagree on the direction: one says left, the other says right as you step out. One post noted separate men's and women's toilets.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- We don't know about waits. One post said they were seated straight away on a weekday evening; nobody wrote that they had to wait. That isn't proof there's never a queue — the others just didn't mention it. Two posts said they booked ahead.
- Whether there is a private room is disputed: one post describes a room-style group area, another says there are no rooms.
- Corkage is not free: several posts relay a charge of 30,000 won per bottle for wine or sake and 50,000 won for whisky, for drinks the bar doesn't sell. One post said ordering a drink was mandatory.
- Opening hours appear in 25 posts, all copied from listings. Twenty-one give 16:00–23:30 and twenty-two say closed on Sundays, with last orders at 22:30. Four disagree: one says 3 pm to 1 am, one says 16:00–23:00 and closed Mondays, one says Saturdays close at 23:00, and one says 23:20.
- Prices for the same dish vary between posts. On 13 August 2026 two posts listed the grilled beef rib at 22,000 and 25,000 won. Hansan Sogokju 300 appears at both 24,000 and 25,000 won. The seafood scorched-rice stew was 25,000 won in July 2025 and 26,000 in August–September 2026. One October 2026 post shows a menu with several lower prices, so we can't date the changes. Only one post gave a total bill: 97,000 won for two people, one bottle and three dishes. Two posts called it a bit pricey, one called it reasonable.
- Most posts give the phone number as 02-466-1615; two give 0507-1325-1615. Several posts relay that group bookings for 4–30 people and Naver reservations are accepted.
- Most posts from August 2026 onward repeat the same points in the same order: a chef from a top hotel's Japanese kitchen, about 50 traditional liquors, room for 100 guests, square ice, what "damotori" means, and a three-year local award. Five posts disclose sponsorship, and seven mention a free highball for posting a receipt review. We treat the chef's background, capacity and award as the bar's own claims, not as evidence.
