Cafe

Daerim Changgo Gaelleori

대림창고 갤러리 Daelim Changgo means the Daelim warehouse — a 1970s rice mill turned storehouse in Seongsu, now run as a gallery cafe.

Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →

A large gallery cafe in a red-brick warehouse on Seongsu-iro near Seongsu Station, converted from a 1970s rice mill. It serves coffee, Geisha coffee, strawberry milk, bread and beer; an americano is 6,500 won and Geisha drinks are 17,000 won. Posts from September 2026 on describe a 1,000-won entry charge with a wristband, refunded against any drink or bakery order. We read 19 posts from October 2025 to October 2026; 15 describe a visit, and one, about a pop-up in the Musinsa store next door, was set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eight of the 15 visit posts mention the high ceiling. Two say glass in the roof lets in daylight, and one notes there are almost no columns.
  2. Nine posts call it spacious. One says the ground floor splits into three areas, another that there are two halls, and another that you can rest without worrying about a seat. But one post says tables for two or more rarely open up, and another only just found a seat on a summer weekend.
  3. Of five posts that judged prices, four found them high, citing the Geisha coffee, a 10,500-won fig croissant and 8,000-9,000-won beers, though one accepted it as normal for big cafes. One post thought 5,500 won for a coffee was not expensive.

Getting inside

Second floor4 of 14 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 14 posts read)

Four posts mention an upstairs, reached by stairs; one found it quieter with large tables, another described it as a small room.

The cafe is on the ground and first floors; three posts describe the counter and bakery on the ground floor, and none mentions a basement.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — nobody wrote about it, which is not the same as there being none. Three posts say the upstairs is reached by stairs; none mentions a lift.

We do not know whether the toilet is inside or split by gender; one post only remarks on its handsome door and mirror.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 17 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Noise is split one to one: one post found the upstairs quiet and cosy, while an October 2025 post found it loud with children running around.
  • The 1,000-won entry charge appears only in seven posts from September 2026 visits on, not in posts from October 2025, January 2026 or July 2026. One visitor returning after five years noticed entry had changed, but no one says when. That you cannot re-enter without the wristband is something one post was told. One September menu board lists some prices 500-1,000 won lower than the others, so we cannot confirm current prices.
  • Several posts give the walk from Seongsu Station exit 3, but always as copied directions; no one describes actually walking it.
  • No post describes queuing to get in; two say it was hard to find a seat because of the crowd.
  • Four posts went with friends, one with family (wife and child), one with a husband and one alone; the rest do not say.
  • Six posts give the same hours, 11:00-22:00, and two give last orders at 21:30. Five of these are copied listings, and one post also contains a stray 11:00-17:00 line. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Two posts copy the phone number 0507-1390-9669. No one says whether it takes reservations.
  • Of the 15 visit posts, one (October 2025) says the writer paid; the rest say nothing either way.
