Cheongchun Gogitgan

청춘고깃간 Cheongchun means youth, and gogitgan is an old word for a butcher's shop — roughly 'Youth Butcher'.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A pork-belly house one minute's walk from exit 4 of Seongsu station, on the ground floor of the Sinseong Building at 96 Achasan-ro, opening at 4 pm. Set A — 450 g of belly with doenjang stew and fried rice — is 35,000 won; the 600 g set B and the 'whole pig' mix of belly, neck and jowl are 47,000 won. Staff lay kimchi and bean sprouts along the edge of the grill when you order, add seasoned chives as the meat cooks, and fry rice on the same plate at the end. Many posts describe walls covered in customers' graffiti. We read 30 posts from 31 May to 3 October 2026; two were Gwangju gift-voucher listings and were set aside, leaving 28 actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eighteen posts leaned toward cheap and none called it expensive, usually adding 'for Seongsu'. One post did find soju at 5,000 won and beer at 6,000 won a touch pricey.
  2. Several posts say the spring-onion salad is dressed fresh each time you ask; one quotes the owner saying it wilts if made ahead. Seven posts had side dishes topped up. There is no self-serve bar, as one post points out — you ask — and extra lettuce costs 1,000 won.
  3. Eleven posts called the belly thick-cut; one said it was not especially thick and cooked quickly.
  4. Eight posts saw foreign diners that evening — Japanese and Chinese visitors, a Chinese mother and daughter. One mentions a menu in English and Chinese, another that the owner grilled for foreign tables.

  1. Ten posts described the seating, counting anywhere from seven or eight to twelve tables, mostly round. Six said the room is small; a group of five squeezed an extra chair onto a four-top.
  2. Twenty-five posts stress how close the station is — usually a minute or 30 m from exit 4, turning at the LG U+ shop.
  3. Among posts that say who came along, couples are the largest group at seven; four came with friends, three as a work or larger group, one with a mother.

Twenty-five posts stress how close the station is — usually a minute or 30 m from exit 4, turning at the LG U+ shop.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 3 (of 28 posts read)
Separate restrooms2 of 28 posts

No post describes the floor from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the copied address.

Nobody mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — only that the door is a blue sliding one. That means unknown, not absent.

Three posts say the toilet is outside the restaurant; two of them note separate men's and women's rooms, one placing it in the building to the left.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Whether staff grill for you is split: one post says the owner cooked everything start to finish, two grilled themselves ('they don't grill for you'), and one grilled itself while watching the owner cook for foreign guests. Kimchi and chives are put on for you in nearly every post.
  • Waiting is split two and two. One post sat straight down at 6:10 pm on a Thursday and saw the room fill by 6:30; another only got in because they had phoned ahead. A two-hour limit when busy is quoted from the house, not observed, so we did not count it.
  • Nineteen posts list opening hours, all copied from the listing: eighteen say 4 pm to midnight, closed Sundays; one says until 2 am with last orders at 1. Two garbled entries were left out.
  • Set prices held steady from June to October 2026; only beer differs between posts, 5,000 or 6,000 won, and extras like more lettuce are charged.
  • Many posts copy the same phone number, 0507-1318-4757; one actually phoned ahead to hold a table, and another recommends booking for groups.
  • A batch of posts carry the identical eight hashtags in the same order; two disclose sponsorship, two look like invited reviews, four say they paid, and the rest say nothing. One self-paying post was taken aback at being told not to grill kimchi in the middle of the plate, while adding the owner was not unkind.
