Jipsin Maeun Galbijjim Seokgye-jeom

짚신매운갈비찜 석계점 Jipsin is the traditional Korean straw sandal and maeun galbijjim means spicy braised ribs; this branch of the chain braises pork ribs, and one visitor noticed a real straw sandal hung on the outside wall.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A branch of a spicy braised pork-rib chain, on the ground floor in the Seokgye Station food alley. Nearly every visitor ordered Set 1 for 37,000 won: galbijjim for two, steamed egg, and a roe rice ball or fried rice. The meat comes out of the kitchen already cooked and you finish it at the table with bean sprouts. Heat is chosen from 10% (tteokbokki-level) to 100%, and there is a non-spicy soy-broth version. We read 30 posts dated 20 May to 24 October 2026. Four were about other places (a pork-belly shop inside the Korea University branch, and the Daegu Dongseongno branch) and were set aside; all 26 that remain describe actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You walk from the station. Thirteen posts describe the walk from Seokgye Station, mostly 3 to 7 minutes from Exit 7; two used Exit 5. One said it took 10 minutes, and one mentioned the bus stop at Seokgwan-dong Community Center. A post from 11 October 2026 noted that Exit 5, normally the closest, was under construction.
  2. Instead of water you get tea. Eight posts mention it: seven call it hutgae (oriental raisin tree) tea, and one June 2026 post called it barley tea. Several say it soothes the heat better than plain water.
  3. Nine posts booked through Naver and found the table already laid with side dishes and aprons. One post relays that bookings are not taken for weekends, the eve of holidays or groups, with a maximum of four.
  4. You order from your seat: ten posts used the tablet or kiosk at each table.
5 more
  1. Sixteen posts describe mostly four-person tables. The nine that counted them gave 6-7, 8-9, about 9 (three posts), about 10 (three posts) and more than 10 (one post).
  2. Fourteen posts say portions are large, and several point to the set's rice ball as much as the meat. One writer thought four adults could share it as a side; another couple gave up before finishing.
  3. How hot it is depends on the level. Thirty percent (Shin Ramyun) was the most common choice, in eleven posts, and two of those found it hotter than Shin Ramyun. Three who chose 10% said it was not spicy, and one who chose 70% said it was not very hot.
  4. Prices held steady from May to October 2026: Set 1 was always 37,000 won, so a meal for two without drinks came to 37,000-39,000 won. Four posts called it cheap and none called it expensive. A weekday-only lunch set (noon to 3 p.m.) was listed at 33,000 won in one June post, and one visitor who came on a weekend could not order it.
  5. Eight posts mention a receipt-review event that gives a free add-in of noodles, rice cake or dumplings. One found it a hassle because you have to pay and show proof before the food arrives.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read)
Toilet inside7 of 25 posts

Only one post mentioned the floor from experience, saying it is on the ground floor and easy to reach; otherwise there is just the address.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access. That means we do not know, not that there is none.

Seven posts say the restroom is inside the shop. Whether it is split by gender appears only in one copied info block, not in anyone's account.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Posts split four to four on whether the room is spacious: four called it small or modest, four called it fairly large.
  • We know little about waits. One post walked straight in at weekday lunch; two booked ahead and did not wait. Three found it nearly full in the evening, but nobody wrote that they queued.
  • Opening hours come from info blocks copied into 21 posts: mostly noon to 11 p.m. (Sunday to 10 p.m.), closed Thursdays, last order 10 p.m. (Sunday 9 p.m.). One post lists Saturday until midnight and one gives last order as 9 p.m. None of these were checked in person.
  • Sixteen posts list the phone number 0507-1361-9147. Everyone who booked did so through Naver; nobody mentioned phoning.
  • Many October 2026 posts follow the same template: a Naver booking, a pre-set table with aprons, the tea, the review event and a 'Seokgye Station bar' hashtag. Only two disclose sponsorship (one #sponsored tag, one free meal); the rest say nothing either way.
