Bonga Seolleongtang is an ox-bone soup house in a two-storey standalone building on the main road across from the west lake at Seokchon Lake. A huge cauldron simmers broth by the entrance. The core is seolleongtang at 15,000 won and the tripe-laden bongatang at 17,000 won, with pricier oxtail soup (33,000), braised oxtail (99,000) and mixed boiled beef (68,000). Every table has crocks of cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi plus chopped scallions to help yourself, and the soup arrives nearly unseasoned for you to salt to taste. Eight posts went with family, four with friends. We read 30 posts from November 2024 to October 2026; 25 describe an actual visit (one was a different restaurant, four were lists or passing mentions).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Food comes fast. Six posts say the soup arrived almost as soon as they ordered; none complained of a wait for food.
- Nobody reported queuing. Four posts walked straight in, one noting there is no afternoon break so a mid-afternoon visit was roomy. Lunchtime posts do describe a full house, hard to find an empty seat.
- The broth comes almost unsalted. Seven posts say they seasoned it themselves; one added plenty of coarse salt and still needed salted shrimp. One post found the kimchi, by contrast, much saltier than at their neighbourhood soup place.
- It reads as easy with children. Of nine posts that mention kids, seven saw high chairs; one counted four or five, said staff brought them the better one, and that several staff came over to soothe the baby.
1 more
- Two posts mention 100-won coins left at the counter so diners can get a free vending-machine coffee.

Parking

Parking is what people talk about most. All 24 posts that mention it parked in the restaurant's own lot out front. One guessed it holds about 20 cars, another about 50, and four mention valet service. One post explains it is self-parking when quiet and free valet when busy; another was told they could leave the car a while after closing. Nine posts say they drove.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 3 of 25 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read) |
There is a lot of seating. Three posts mention a second floor, one counted more than 20 four-person tables, two mention floor seating and one (November 2024) saw a private room at the back. One diner on the floor seats said it felt like sharing a table with strangers.
We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance, whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in, or whether there is a lift to the second floor. Nobody wrote about it, which isn't the same as saying there isn't one.
Only one post mentions the toilet, saying it is in the corridor, which doesn't settle whether it's inside the restaurant. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing info, not in anyone's own account.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices are consistent from June to October 2026, with seolleongtang at 15,000 won. Seven posts call it expensive and two say it's pricey but worth it. A September 2026 post says the braised oxtail has become much pricier, now 99,000 won, but gives no earlier price, so we can't say when or from what it rose.
- On opening hours, 15 posts agree on 8:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 7:30 to 22:00 on weekends, mostly copied from listing info. Two say 8:00 to 22:00 daily, one says 7:00 to 22:00, and one copied a '24 hours' line from Naver Map that matches no other post. Two say there is no afternoon break; one notes it closes on Chuseok day itself.
- Several posts copy station names such as Seokchon Gobun and Seokchon, but only one actually arrived by public transport (by bus). No one timed the walk from a station.
- Nine posts give the phone number, 02-414-5945. As for reservations, one post saw another customer arrive with a phone booking; none of the writers booked themselves.
- Two 'Jamsil top 5' posts from the same blogger in September and October 2026 are word-for-word identical templates with no sign of a visit, so we didn't count them. Nor did we count a 'Seoul breakfast top 10' list.
