YUME
유메오뎅 홍대 Yume Odeng Hongdae Yume is Japanese for 'dream', and oden (odeng in Korean) is the Japanese simmered fish-cake dish the bar is built around.

Yume Oden Hongdae is a Japanese-style oden bar and izakaya on the club street between Sangsu and Hongik Univ. stations (75 Wausan-ro), one branch of a chain that also has a Suyu location. The oden comes out already cooked, and you keep it warm in a broth warmer set into your own table. Several posts say the first order must be six oden, three oden plus a side, or two sides, and that everyone must order a drink. Oden run KRW 2,900–3,900 a plate (three skewers for 3,900, two cheese oden for 3,700), sets KRW 27,900–29,900, and a Kirin draught KRW 6,900. We read 30 posts dated 29 March to 14 October 2026, 29 of them from actual visits. Nearly all follow the same hashtag set and the same promotional order (new menu items, Naver coupons, the review freebie), which looks like commissioned copy; 4 disclose sponsorship and 4 say the meal was provided.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- The window seats are what people talk about. 10 posts describe the windows or glass frontage, with views straight onto the Hongdae street. Posts repeatedly say to book if you want those seats, and 15 either booked or advised booking; some say you can request a ground-floor window seat or the upstairs counter when reserving.
- 12 posts say you order from a tablet or kiosk at the table; one adds that calling staff also goes through the tablet.
- Many posts say the oden arrives pre-cooked and is ready once dipped in the broth, and 5 say food came quickly or without a wait. One post from 5 May describes a different method, with raw ingredients boiled at the table.
- 5 posts found the portions generous — the kirimochi set was enough for two, and the chicken-heart order came as eight skewers. None said portions were small.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 20 of 29 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 3 (of 29 posts read) |
| Step at the entrance | 1 of 29 posts |
| Toilet inside | 7 of 29 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 5 of 29 posts |
The bar is split over a ground floor and an upper level. 20 posts describe the upper floor from their visit, and several sat at the counter by the back door upstairs, which opens to the street with the windows thrown wide. 3 posts sat on the ground floor; none mention going down to a basement.
No post entered with a wheelchair or stroller. One says you have to climb steps at the entrance. Some posts copy a listing that says the entrance is wheelchair-accessible, but that is not first-hand and we did not count it. We do not know whether a wheelchair can get in.
7 posts place the toilets inside, upstairs next to the counter seats and the back door, and 5 say they are separated by gender. One called them very clean.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- 4 posts found the staff friendly and 1 did not. That diner, who went alone on a sponsored visit, was the only one at the table not given water, was answered irritably when asking how to call staff, and said they would not return.
- 13 posts call the place spacious; one disagreed, saying there were fewer tables than expected and only about four bar seats.
- 4 posts describe getting there on foot from transit: two walked from Sangsu station, one from Hongik Univ. station, and one took bus 7612 to Seogyo-dong and walked about ten minutes. Lines like 'five minutes from Sangsu exit 2' or 'ten minutes from Hongik Univ. exit 9' are mostly copied from the listing.
- No post queued. One went early, saw the room fill up soon after and advised booking; another found it busy on a weekday evening. We do not know how long a wait might be.
- One post says it is adults only with ID required, as a bar; another reminds readers to bring ID. No one went with children.
- 9 posts got the kirimochi free for a receipt review. The coupons (a KRW 1,000 Terra, four Kirins, three oden or a croquette) and the 10% discounts for public servants and Yonsei or Hongik students are the bar's own promotions, copied by posts, which also note they change over time.
- All the opening hours are copied from listings, not observed. They mostly agree on 16:00 to 05:00 the next morning, every day. Weekend opening varies: most posts up to 3 October say 15:00 on Saturday and Sunday, the 4 posts from 10 October on say Sunday now opens at 16:00 with only Saturday at 15:00, and two posts from 2–3 October say 13:00 at weekends. Last order is mostly 03:30; two posts say 03:00.
- Prices for the same items match across posts from April to October. But no post gives a bill total per person or per table, so we do not know what a typical meal costs. A minimum spend at busy times is mentioned only as hearsay.
- Most posts give the phone number as 0507-1484-3053; two that copied CatchTable listings give 070-4242-5050. Reservations are taken through Naver booking and CatchTable.
- This is a chain outlet. One post compared it with the Suyu branch, preferred Suyu for the room, atmosphere and service, and called the food franchise-standard.
