Chinese
Warara Huoguo
와라라훠궈 Huoguo is the Chinese word for hotpot; 'warara' reads like Korean onomatopoeia for things tumbling out all at once, and one blogger uses it that way for tipping ingredients into the pot.

A self-serve, all-you-can-eat hotpot place on the second floor of 136-18 Eoulmadang-ro, down an alley off Exit 8 of Hongik University Station. You split the pot into one to four sections, choose from mala, tomato, bone broth and millefeuille-nabe broths, and help yourself to meat, vegetables, dumplings, plus guobaorou, fried rice, fruit and ice cream. A meal costs 20,900 won at weekday lunch (until 4 pm) and 23,900 won for weekday dinner, weekends and holidays; a three-section pot adds 1,000 won, four sections 2,000 won. Several posts liked that it is a buffet you walk up to rather than a conveyor. We read 30 posts dated 19 June to 25 October 2026; 21 of them record an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Of the 19 posts that describe the room, 17 call it clean. What they point to is the self-serve bar: trays topped up before they run empty, and spoons, bowls and utensils kept tidy. One post says there was not a dirty thing in sight.
- Posts disagree on how hot the mala broth is. Of 8 that comment, 3 found it spicy (one was told medium equals Shin Ramyun and found it clearly hotter), 4 found it milder than expected (one ordered hot and still called it not very spicy), and 1 said even mild had a little bite. There are three levels — mild, medium, hot — and several posts advise mild or a half-and-half pot with bone broth if you are heat-shy.
- Thirteen posts mention beer. A small glass of draft is 1,900 won, or pay 4,900 won per person to pour your own all night; one post had three glasses that way. Most posts say drinks are paid separately; one alone says drinks are unlimited.
- Ten posts call the room spacious; one says it is not large but the tables are well spaced. Three mention big windows or window seats, and one mentions single seats.
1 more
- Four posts are return visits: two second visits, one couple who have been several times, and one writer who came back months later bringing her mother.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 10 of 21 posts |
|---|
Ten posts describe walking up stairs to the second floor. Two say the stairs are on the right side of the building, and one says it is only about half a flight. Two mention a jokbal restaurant on the ground floor.
No post mentions a lift, an entrance step, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Ten simply say they took the stairs to the second floor — that is silence, not proof there is no lift.
No one describes the toilets from experience. One post's info block lists separate men's and women's toilets, but that is copied listing data, so we do not rely on it.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 9 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- We set aside 9 of the 30 posts: 7 are flowery write-ups with no record of eating there, and 2 share the same closing five hashtags and the same outline (one discloses it was paid). Two of the visit posts also disclose sponsorship.
- Fourteen posts give opening hours, mostly copied into a header. All say 11 am opening; closing is midnight in 11, 11:30 pm in 2 (posts from 16 and 25 October 2026) and 11 pm in 1. A 10 October post still says midnight, so we cannot tell whether the hours changed. Six give last order as 10:30 pm, two say there is no afternoon break, and one read a 100-minute time limit off the menu.
- No post mentions waiting. Two found it full around 8 pm (one on a Friday), while visits at weekday lunch, 2 pm, 4 pm and 5 pm were quiet. One post booked a 1 pm table through Naver and was seated at once.
- Prices mostly agree, but one post gives 20,800 won per adult; that post's hours and phone number also differ from everyone else's, so we treat it as copied and unreliable.
- Six posts give the phone number as 0507-1336-3318; one gives 02-336-3318 and another 010-3795-3315. One post reserved through Naver booking.
