Japanese

Tokkijeong Hongdae-jeom

토끼정 홍대점 Tokki is Korean for rabbit — the chain's name, and rabbit figurines are set around the dining rooms.

Compiled from 11 blog posts read in fullSources →

Tokkijeong's Hongdae branch sits in an alley near KT&G Sangsangmadang at 13 Janda-ri-ro 2-gil, Mapo-gu, and takes up a whole building from the first to the third floor. It is a Japanese home-style chain: you order a tendon, curry udon, rice bowl or cutlet each, or share a two-person set (posts list 33,900 to 38,800 won). Single dishes were written down at 11,000 won for curry udon, 13,500 for tendon or katsudon, 18,500 for the raw salmon bowl. We read 27 posts dated 13 August 2025 to 8 October 2026. Ten were about the Seoul Station, Yongsan, Times Square or Dongtan branches or were job ads, and we set them aside; five only name the place; twelve describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. No one wrote about waiting. Four posts said they walked straight in — seated at once at Sunday lunch, an empty room just after the lunch rush, and one noting the three-storey building means no worry about queues. No post clearly describes a weekend dinner, so we don't know about the busiest hours.
  2. Big windows come up again and again: five posts mention them. One diner got a seat beside the floor-to-ceiling glass on an early weekday evening; another looked down on the street trees from a window table.
  3. Eight posts called the frying crisp. One tendon eater said the batter stayed crisp to the end without going soggy, and two posts counted three shrimp on the tendon.
  4. Five posts said portions are generous. One differed: the Tokki set was plenty for two, but for two adults and a child it fell a little short, so they added a cube steak.
3 more
  1. Five posts called the prices reasonable and none called them high. Three people paid 54,900 won for the Jeong set (33,900) plus a mentaiko cream pasta (14,800). Two of those five posts belong to the look-alike batch noted below.
  2. An October 2026 post found the first-floor entrance done up for Halloween with jack-o'-lanterns and ghosts. Several posts mention rabbit figurines around the rooms.
  3. One post came with a child; it reported high chairs and a children's section on the menu.

Parking

1 posts say you can park; 3 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 11 posts

Parking reports split three to one. Three posts said there is no lot of its own; the two who drove used private lots nearby, one paying 6,000 won an hour. A June 2026 post said there is a dedicated lot near the building, though not a big one.

Getting inside

Second floor1 of 11 posts
Toilet inside1 of 11 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 11 posts

We know little about the floors. The registered address includes a basement level, but no post mentions going down or seating there. One post said there are many seats on the second and third floors.

No one said whether there is a step at the door, whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in, or whether there is a lift. That means unknown, not absent. One promotional post describes the upper floors as split around a staircase, but it isn't a visit record, so we didn't count it.

Only two posts mention the restroom: one liked that it is inside the restaurant, the other found separate men's and women's rooms, a bit worn but kept clean. No one mentioned an accessible toilet.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 16 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post describes the walk itself: a short way from Hapjeong Station exit 3, tucked in an alley but easy to spot because the building is large. The ten-minute walks from Hongik Univ. exit 9 or Sangsu Station come from copied listings.
  • Eight posts give the same opening hours, 11:30 to 22:00 daily, mostly copied from the shop listing. Last order is 21:00 in five posts and 21:30 in one. No post mentions a break time or a closing day.
  • Six posts give the phone number as 0507-1335-0648; one list post copied 02-333-0638. No one wrote about actually making a reservation.
  • Prices for the same dish vary a little. The Jeong set was 37,800 won in two October 2025 posts and 37,000 in February 2026; the Tokki set 38,800 in February 2026 and 37,800 in a September 2026 list; the mentaiko cream pasta 14,800 in two August 2026 posts and 15,500 in a list. No one mentioned a price change, so we can't tell which is current.
  • The sets have changed. Posts from October 2025 and February 2026 describe the Jeong set as loin katsu with a choice of one of five noodle dishes and a curry; in August 2026 a returning diner said the sets were much more varied than before and had a Jeong set of iron-plate katsu, cream curry udon, tendon and a Coke Zero for 33,900 won. An October 2026 post lists Tokki, Jeong and On sets.
  • Some posts look templated. On 1 October 2025 two similarly named blogs posted the same Jeong set, the same two fruit sodas and the same sentence about thick-cut, crisply fried pork, and share a hashtag line with an August 2025 post. An August 2026 listing and that August 2025 post use the identical line about salmon trimmed and aged in-house. None discloses sponsorship, but weigh their praise lightly; we treated the salmon line as the shop's own claim and didn't count it.
