수퍼빌런 The name is the English phrase 'super villain' written in Korean; the house serves American-style Chinese food.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

Super Villain is an American-Chinese restaurant on the second floor of 68 Wausan-ro 27-gil, in a side street near exit 8 of Hongik University station. Orange chicken, chow mein and fried rice come in M and L sizes, and Korean-Chinese staples like jajangmyeon and jjamppong are also on the menu. Prices in 2026 posts: orange chicken L 17,900 won, beef chow mein L 14,800 won, egg fried rice M 9,000 / L 12,000 won, solo sets 15,800–17,800 won. Many posts describe groups ordering several plates to share. We read 30 posts from July 2025 to October 2026; 13 of them record an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table. Six posts said so; one added that you enter your table number and the screen also works in Chinese, English and Japanese. A July 2025 post said both ordering and payment happen at the table.
  2. The seasoning is strong. Five posts called the food salty or intense — one warned you would be drinking water all evening, another said you'd gulp a glass when you got home. Four posts also mentioned sweetness. One added that it suits people who already like American-Chinese food.
  3. Five posts said portions are large — one couple left much of their chicken after ordering two larges, another found the jajangmyeon filling without upsizing. One post disagreed: M felt skimpy, L went down easily, and the group ordered more.
  4. Four posts got a plate of fried dumplings for writing a receipt or visitor review.

  1. Two posts mentioned a separate group room at the back. Several described a 1950s American-diner look with checkerboard floors and red booths; a May 2026 post noted a Santa still hanging up long after Christmas.

Parking is hard. The one post that wrote from experience said there is nowhere to stop in the alley. Other posts' 'use the nearby public lot' is copied listing info.

Getting inside

Second floor5 of 12 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 12 posts read)
Toilet inside2 of 12 posts

The restaurant is upstairs. Five posts said they climbed to the second floor; one described a narrow staircase beside a ground-floor watch shop and said you find it by the sandwich board, since the sign faces inward.

No post mentioned an elevator, an entrance step, or wheelchair or stroller access. One post only described a narrow staircase up to the second floor. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is none.

Two posts said the restroom is inside the restaurant. Separate men's and women's rooms appear only in a copied info block from July 2025, which we do not count.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 17 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Four posts walked from Hongik University station, but the times differ: one said about 8 minutes from exit 8, another about 2. One gave directions from exit 9 toward Seogyo Elementary School.
  • None of the 13 posts we count mentions waiting. One arrived just before the afternoon break to a quiet room; another walked straight in right after the break. Sixteen look-alike posts from August–September 2026 mention peak-time waits, but they record no actual meal and we don't count them. We don't know whether there's a line at the lunch or dinner rush.
  • Five posts went as a couple, two as a group, and one with another couple. None of the posts we count went alone or with children.
  • Opening hours vary slightly between posts. Ten posts list hours, mostly copied info blocks. All say 11:00 opening; nine say 22:00 closing, one 21:30. The afternoon break is 15:00–16:30 in three posts and 15:00–16:00 in one, while one post lists it by day (weekdays 15:00–16:30, Saturday 15:00–16:00, Sunday 16:00–17:00). Last order is 21:10 in four 2026 posts and 21:30 in one from July 2025. No post mentions a regular day off.
  • Prices have gone up: egg fried rice M was 8,000 won in July 2025 and 9,000 won in March and June 2026. Other dishes weren't priced in the same size across both periods, so we can't compare them. Two posts called the value fair for Hongdae.
  • Five posts list the phone number 0507-1402-2536. No post describes actually booking a table; the claim that reservations are taken appears only in a copied info block.
  • Sixteen posts from 19 August to 4 September 2026 follow one template — same hashtags, same paragraph structure, same order of dishes, and no prices or menu names. There is also a promotional post from the owner's own restaurant-startup academy. We did not count these 17.
