Sodamchon Hongdae Seogyo is a branch of a shabu-shabu and rice-paper-wrap chain, on the ground floor of 12 Worldcup-buk-ro 5-gil, between Hongik Univ. and Hapjeong stations. Meat comes in a fixed portion per order; vegetables, noodles, rice paper and extra broth come from a central self bar. 2026 posts put the standard set at 15,900 won at lunch and 18,900 won otherwise, and many split the pot between mild and spicy broth. Meals end with noodles or porridge in the leftover broth, then coffee and ice cream in a café corner after paying. We read 30 posts from March 2025 to October 2026; 26 record an actual meal. What sets it apart
- A 'Kids Cinema' room lets children watch videos while adults finish eating. Ten posts mention it, and three note a monitor or CCTV so parents can watch from outside. One writer remarked that the shop gave up table space for it. The free-for-preschoolers and 10,000-won-per-schoolchild prices are copied from the shop's own notice.
- After paying you move to a café corner at the back. Six posts say plainly that the coffee and ice cream are free. Flavours listed were chocolate, cookies and cream, vanilla, and strawberry or green tea; teas included pomegranate, peach black tea and green-plum. One August 2026 visitor found the coffee machine out of order.
- Nineteen posts call it spacious, citing room between tables, eight-seat group tables, floor seating (four posts) and partitioned window tables. It fills up accordingly: three posts found it loud or chaotic at weekend lunch or peak times.
- Waits depend on timing: two posts waited, two walked straight in. A March 2025 visitor at about 6 pm on a weekend waited 20 minutes, and a party of eight with a reservation on a March 2026 weekend lunch still waited for a table. A weekday 1 pm visit and a July 2026 visit went straight in. One post says there is no app queue: you write your party size and name on a list and wait inside to be called.

An April 2026 post warned spaces may run short at weekends, and a March 2025 post said staff can direct you to an underground lot when it is busy.

No post mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Two posts only say the shop is on the ground floor; that is silence, not confirmation of step-free access.
Only one post mentions the toilet, saying it is inside the building; nobody says whether it is gender-separated or how big it is.

A March 2025 post gave the basic set from 14,900 won weekday lunch and 16,900 won weekends; posts from late June 2026 on show 18,900 won standard and 15,900 won at lunch, and one June 2026 post says prices had risen. The mushroom lunch set is 17,500 won in four posts and 17,900 won in one. Nine posts called it good value.
- A September 2026 post notes milk-mala shabu as a new item; no post has tried it yet.
- Twenty posts give opening hours of 11:00-21:30 daily, mostly copied from listings. One says open every day of the year, and one says there is no afternoon break. Last order is 20:00 in ten posts and 20:30 in two (March 2025, April 2026). Three posts say the lunch specials run until 3 pm, one of them weekdays only.
- A September 2026 post saw high chairs; a March 2025 post thought there were none. Other mentions are copied from listings.
