Seogyodong Jinhyang
서교동 진향 Jinhyang (津香) pairs jin, a ferry crossing, with hyang, fragrance; jin is shared with the sister restaurant Jinjin next door, whose name points to Tianjin and to Yanghwajin, the old ferry landing of Mapo.

A Chinese restaurant on a Seogyo-dong side street (62 World Cup-buk-ro 1-gil), between Hapjeong and Hongik Univ. stations. It is run by chefs Wang Yuk-seong and Hwang Jin-seon, who also run Jinjin next door. Where Jinjin focuses on banquet dishes, Jinhyang also serves everyday noodles and dumplings: eggplant ganjjajang (11,000 won), a white-broth abalone seafood jjamppong (15,000 won) and house-made dumplings. It keeps dishes like crab-meat stir-fry (40,000 won), menbosha (33,000 won for six) and abalone palbochae (54,000 won). A 50,000-won membership takes 20% off the dishes; one post says dumplings and noodles are excluded. Rice, kkakdugi and onions are free at a self-serve bar, and watermelon or candied sweet potato comes at the end. We read 31 posts from 14 June to 16 October 2026: 26 describe a visit, 2 are multi-restaurant lists, and 3 were set aside as being about other restaurants.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- This is a place to book. Five posts say they reserved. One post that walked in first at Sunday opening found every table already marked as reserved. A walk-in at about 4:50 pm counted only two or three unreserved tables. Two posts had booked or queued for Jinjin next door and were seated at Jinhyang instead.
- Three posts walked straight in: on a public-holiday lunch, at 5 pm on a weekend, and at 1 pm on a weekday. One post, on a Thursday at 7 pm, waited five to ten minutes behind two groups. Two more only guessed the wait could be long.
- The jjamppong has a white, not red, broth, and six posts call the food mild. The split is over the Cheongyang chili in the eggplant ganjjajang. One post compared its heat to Shin Ramyun and two others called it spicy, while another found it only lightly hot. Three posts say spicy and two are undecided.
- Five posts mention the open kitchen, where you can hear the woks and watch the chefs cook. Several also describe the two owner-chefs coming out to explain dishes or pose for photos.
3 more
- Leftovers can go home with you: four posts mention takeaway containers at the self-serve bar or staff packing food.
- Six posts call the prices reasonable and one calls them high. That post paid full price without membership and found the crab-meat stir-fry too expensive. Another said it might feel pricey but is fair at the member rate.
- Seven posts went as a group to share dishes, six with friends, three with family and two as a couple. Two of the family visits brought children; one with a 16-month-old says the chef made a fuss over the baby.

Parking
1 posts say you can park; 2 say you cannot. We leave the disagreement standing rather than picking a side.

| Posts saying you cannot | 2 of 23 posts |
Parking is disputed. Two posts say there is none and you must use the paid public lot in front. One says there was space right outside, and another only that the private space is tight. Most of the copied listing info says no parking; one copied line says parking is available.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
6 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 2 of 23 posts |
|---|
No post describes the floor from experience; the address says ground floor and one post mentions a ground-floor unit in a low-rise building. That is not proof there is no other level, only that nobody wrote about one.
We don't know about steps at the entrance or wheelchair and stroller access; even the post with a toddler does not mention a stroller.
Two posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant. Nobody mentions whether it is separated by gender or how big it is.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 25 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Seven posts published 5–8 September describe the same eight-dish meal, with the chef introducing each dish and name cards on the table. It looks like a single gathering, though none discloses sponsorship, so read their praise as coming from one dinner. A separate post says it was an invited, sponsored meal.
- Six posts say it is walkable from the subway, with estimates from Hapjeong Exit 2 ranging from five to ten minutes; one adds it is one bus stop from Hongik Univ. Station.
- On opening hours, nearly every post agrees: closed Mondays, 11:00 opening on weekdays, a 14:00–17:00 break and last orders at 20:30. Weekends differ. September posts list a later 11:30 opening and a 14:30 break on Saturdays, with Sundays open until ingredients run out. An August post puts the 11:30 opening and 14:30 break on Sunday instead. Most of this is copied listing info, so check before a weekend visit.
- Prices vary by period. Dumplings were 8,000 won for four in August–September posts, while two October posts list 6,000 won for four and 12,000 won for eight. Two posts give crab-meat stir-fry and menbosha prices that differ from the rest. Most posts call the membership lifelong; one calls it annual.
- Five posts give the phone number as 070-8713-8888 and one as 0507-1418-8888; phone reservations are taken. The post saying off-menu dishes can be ordered ahead when booking was written by an invited guest.
