Korean

Seoganae Sikdang

서가네식당 Seoga-ne means 'the Seo family's place', and sikdang simply means restaurant.

Compiled from 8 blog posts read in fullSources →

Seoganae Sikdang is a Korean set-meal canteen in a Seogyo-dong side street (26 Worldcupbuk-ro 1-gil), near Exit 1 of Hongik Univ. Station, feeding office workers at lunch. Single dishes such as spicy pork with lettuce wraps, grilled mackerel, brisket doenjang stew and cockle bibimbap come with a plate of sides for each person; rice, seaweed soup, scorched-rice tea and extra sides are self-serve. Prices in the posts run from 10,000 to 13,000 won. We read 23 posts from November 2024 to September 2026; 12 were about other places (a different Seoganae in Mangwon-dong, Seoga & Cook, a makeup salon next door) and were set aside. Eight describe actually eating here.

What sets it apart

  1. Refills are the point here. Seven of the eight visit posts say rice, seaweed soup, scorched-rice tea and side dishes are refilled at a self-serve bar. One notes the condition is one main dish per person, and two singled out the salted squid at the bar.
  2. Six posts said it was good value for the money; none called it expensive. One wrote that 12,000 won bought a range of side dishes. Prices may have crept up: a July 2025 post copying the Naver menu lists grilled mackerel at 12,000 won, while April and August 2026 posts list the mackerel set at 13,000.
  3. Three posts said the room is larger than it looks from outside: one group of eight colleagues found tables easily, and another noted big windows, many tables and plenty of solo diners.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Getting inside

No post describes which floor the restaurant is on; only the address says ground floor.

Nobody mentioned an entrance step or wheelchair or stroller access. That means we don't know, not that there is none.

Nobody said whether the toilet is inside or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Seasoning splits: three posts found it mild and not salty, one found the squid stir-fry too salty.
  • Heat varies by dish: three posts called the pork or kimchi braise spicy, one said the pork was not spicy.
  • Opening hours differ across three posts: weekdays 9:30 am to 3 pm with weekends closed (August 2026), opening 9:30 with last order 2:40 pm (April 2026), and 11 am to 9 pm with no break (July 2025). All are copied information; the two 2026 posts point to lunch only. Check before going.
  • No post records an actual wait. One said there was hardly any queue; several mention the lunch crowd.
  • Company is unclear: one post went alone, one with a group of eight colleagues, and the rest only say it was a workday lunch.
  • Four posts give the same phone number, 02-332-7901. None says whether it takes reservations.
  • Several similarly named places are different businesses: Seoganae Matjip near Mangwon's Worldcup Market, Seoga & Cook in Hapjeong, and Seoga Mandu in Mangwon. We did not count their posts.
