Ongdarae Jjimdak is a braised-chicken restaurant on the ground floor of 122 Yanghwa-ro in Mapo, on the main road between Hongik University Station exit 9 and Hapjeong. You choose the soy-braised house jjimdak in S, L or XL, bone-in or boneless at the same price; posts from August 2026 on give 32,000, 37,000 and 43,000 won. The most-ordered dish was the boneless cheese jjimdak under a blanket of mozzarella (14 posts). Rice is extra, and eight posts ordered ongbap (2,000 won), rice pressed into a crust and mixed into the leftover sauce. We read 30 posts from April 2025 to October 2026; two were about other places, leaving 28 actual visits, 19 of which were published in the two weeks from 27 September to 10 October 2026.

What sets it apart
- Nineteen posts said the portions were large. One couple couldn't finish the smallest size and took the rest home, one called the S "sold as 1-2 servings but really three," three grown men found one XL enough, and another pair filled up on an S without ordering rice. Several noted the glass noodles were plentiful without paying for extra.
- Seventeen posts from January 2026 on describe helping themselves after the meal to free coffee, tea bags, homemade scones, candy and rice crackers at the dessert corner. Three posts from May to September 2025 said the same corner sold coffee, one giving 1,000 won for coffee and 2,000 won for a latte. One post found the scones gone by evening.
- Seventeen posts mention separate rooms or partitioned group seating, six of them saying there are two rooms; one noted the inner room is walled in glass. The figures "rooms for 6-10, group seating for 50-60" were copied from the restaurant's listing.
- Whether it's spicy depends on the level you pick. Four posts called it spicy (two gochujang, two on the hot setting), one comparing it to Shin Ramyun. Four said it wasn't, one on mild and three on medium, with one writing that medium had no heat at all. Three others only called it mildly spicy.

Thirteen posts say you can park right in front. It's a paid lot for the building, not the restaurant's own, and one post found it pricey and suggested a public lot nearby. Only one post clearly says they drove. The rates (3,000 won for the first 30 minutes, 1,000 won per 10 minutes) and the 5% discount were copied from the listing.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance, wheelchair or stroller access, or a ramp, so we don't know, which isn't the same as saying there's a problem. Three posts confirm the restaurant is on the ground floor.
Two posts describe the toilets. One says they're not inside the restaurant but by the stairs up to the second floor, opened with a key card; the other says they're separate for men and women, with a chicken-shaped key.

What we do not know
- Opening hours were almost always copied from the listing. Twelve posts give Mon-Sat 11:00-23:00 (last order 22:00) and Sunday 11:00-22:00 (last order 21:00); eight give 11:00-23:00 without splitting the days. One says 11:00-22:00 every day and one says 10:00-23:00. Check before going on a Sunday.
- Prices have moved. The gochujang S was 33,000 won in February 2026 and 35,000 won from August 2026; the cheese S was 37,000 won in April 2025 and January 2026 and 38,000 won from August 2026. One January 2026 post listed the house jjimdak as 29,000/34,000/41,000 won for small/medium/large, unlike the others. Two posts gave a meal total: 40,000 won for two (L plus scorched rice) and 42,000 won (gochujang S with cheese and rice).
- Eleven posts give the phone number 0507-1367-8763; one from September 2025 gives 02-3142-8763. Reservations, group bookings, a 10% discount for wedding-invitation dinners, paid corkage and pets in carriers all come from the listing, and no post says they actually booked. One post did bring a dog in a carrier.
- Of the 28 visit posts, 19 went up between 27 September and 10 October 2026, and the same phrases recur across them, such as a jjimdak specialist that has held its spot in Hongdae for years and free tea bags, coffee and homemade scones. Two disclose sponsorship or a reviewer invitation, one says they paid, and the rest say nothing.
