Monoplex at RYSE is a single-screen, 30-seat cinema on the 4th floor of the RYSE hotel, near exit 9 of Hongik University station. Each seat is a sofa with a small table. Dessert packages are picked at booking, snacks are ordered from a QR code on the table, and both are made by CHARR, the hotel restaurant on the same floor, and brought to your seat. In 2025 posts a film-only ticket was 15,000 won and a package with fruit or three desserts was 25,000 won. We read 30 posts from January 2025 to October 2026. We set aside nine (the CHARR buffet next door, hotel-stay posts, and other venues), and nineteen are first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Ten posts ordered by scanning the QR code on the seat table, and staff brought the order over. One post noted that ordering stops once the film starts, so order beforehand.
- Nine posts called the seats comfortable — you can almost lie back, and there is room to stretch your legs. Three posts count 14 two-person seats plus 2 singles; one said all seats are doubles. One post warned the front row is too close to the screen and suggested the second or third row.
- Three posts brought outside food in — convenience-store snacks, bread and a latte from the Blue Bottle downstairs. One event organiser's post, however, said outside food is not allowed, so it may depend on the screening.

Two posts drove; both parked in the hotel basement garage and had three free hours registered by staff. One found the garage fairly empty. The '3 hours free' lines in other posts are copied notices.

Getting inside

Seven posts went up to the 4th floor by elevator. There are two routes. The hotel lobby elevator leaves you walking through the CHARR restaurant to reach the cinema, and five posts entered that way, one of them because they didn't know about the other door. Several posts point out a separate Monoplex elevator in the side alley that goes straight to the 4th-floor lobby.
Seven posts mention the elevator to the 4th floor, but nobody wrote about a step at the auditorium door or entering with a wheelchair or stroller. Seating is three tiered rows. We don't know, rather than know it's absent.
The toilets are shared hotel restrooms on the floor, not inside the auditorium. One post describes walking from the lobby toward the restaurant and turning left, with women's on the left and men's on the right. Several posts call them clean; none says whether they are accessible.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 19 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on price split: five posts said it is about what a regular cinema costs or worth it, two found it expensive — 5,000 won for a cola, on-site ordering 'brutally' priced. Only one August 2026 post (an invited event) lists 12,000 won for the ticket and 22,000 won for the fruit package, so a price drop rests on that single post.
- Only one post mentions waiting — none, since there is one screen. Several posts say tickets must be bought online in advance (sales close 30 minutes before the film); one post says they could buy on site.
- Seven posts give opening hours as 11:00–23:00 daily, all from copied info blocks. One post says there are three screenings a day, so check the schedule on the website.
- Three posts list the phone as 1577-0723, one as 070-4175-3522. Posts say booking is through the Monoplex website, and the auditorium can be hired privately.
- Four posts written 18–21 May 2025 after seeing Mission: Impossible share the same package and discount wording, two with identical hashtags — likely a sponsored batch. Two posts disclose sponsorship and one went on an invitation. On pre-film ads, one post said almost none and another said about ten minutes.
