Cafe

CAFE GRANGE

카페 그랑주 Kape Geuranju Grange is French for a barn or granary; the posts explain the name as 곳간, a storehouse filled with good ingredients.

Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →

A large basement café in the Dongsin Building near Exit 9 of Hongik Univ. Station: you open a pink door and walk down a flight of stairs. Parfaits are the draw (Lovely Strawberry 10,900 won, Fall in Sweet 14,900 won), alongside croissants and scones from the bakery counter and brunch plates such as sandwiches and stew (8,500 to 10,800 won). Most ordering is done at a kiosk. We read 30 posts dated 24 August to 10 October 2026. Three were about other businesses on the building's fifth floor (Grange Rooftop and a Multiplus game room) and were set aside, and 15 were templated promotional copy that we did not count. The figures below come from the 12 posts that describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order at a kiosk, as nine posts note. Three add that you can also order from staff at the counter, and one says bakery items are ordered at the counter. One post noted the kiosk shows photos of each item, which seemed to help the many foreign visitors.
  2. Nine visit posts call it spacious, pointing to a big wooden communal table, plenty of four-person tables, and student groups meeting there in the evening. One post adds that it was quiet at 3 p.m. on a weekend but filling up by 3:30.

Getting inside

In a basement7 of 12 posts
Toilet inside1 of 12 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 12 posts

The café is underground. Seven visit posts say so: the door opens straight onto a staircase going down. One writer thought it looked like a ground-floor café from outside; another liked that it is a full basement rather than a half-basement, so passers-by cannot see in.

No post mentions entering with a wheelchair or stroller, or an elevator. Nobody wrote about it, which is not the same as saying there is none. Visit posts do describe walking down stairs from the entrance.

Two posts say the restrooms are separated by gender, and one says they are inside the café. Visit posts also mention a separate powder room.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 15 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-097 posts in one day
2026-09-252 posts in one day
2026-09-132 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Fifteen posts follow the same template, repeating the same lines in the same order: the name means granary in French, seating from two-tops to large tables, air purifiers, bread and doughnuts baked every morning. Some even describe a terrace or a street view from what is a basement. We counted none of them.
  • No post mentions waiting for a table. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait. One post noted seats filling up around 3:30 p.m. on a weekend.
  • Visit posts don't agree on who comes here: two went alone, one with a sister, one with friends.
  • Four posts gave prices, and they match. A parfait plus a sandwich came to 19,400 won; a parfait, a mont blanc and an Americano to 23,200 won. No post called it expensive or cheap.
  • Seven visit posts all list the hours as 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, last order 10 p.m., though most copied this from the store listing. Only one sponsored post mentions days off, saying there are none.
  • Three posts list the phone number as 0507-1495-3132. Only one sponsored post says you can book through Naver, and no post describes booking by phone.
