Jinggwancheong Hwoguo Hongdae

징관청훠궈 홍대점 Hwoguo is the Korean spelling of huoguo, Chinese hotpot; none of the posts explain what 'Jinggwancheong' means.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jinggwancheong Hwoguo's Hongdae branch is a Chinese hotpot restaurant on the second floor of the building next to Pop Mart, near exit 9 of Hongik University Station. You pick two broths (yuanyang pot, 16,000 won) or three (the 'Benz pot', 18,000 won), then order meat, vegetables and meatballs one by one or take a two-person set (39,900 won). There is also an all-you-can-order course at 59,000 won per person. Posts from February 2026 call it newly opened. We read 30 posts dated 13 February to 26 October 2026; 29 are about this restaurant and all 29 describe a visit. One says it was a reviewer-program visit; the other 28 say nothing about sponsorship.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There is a weekday lunch discount, noon to 3 p.m. Eight posts ate at lunch prices: 150 g of beef brisket drops from 13,900 to 10,400 won, and the vegetable, mushroom and tofu platters from 7,900 to 5,900 won. Posts disagree on the size of the discount, quoting anything from 20–30% to 'up to 50%'.
  2. Seven posts call the prices reasonable and two call them expensive. The 'cheap' side mostly compares it with Haidilao: three people for about 80,000 won at lunch, four for 'around 90,000' at a 1 p.m. lunch, two for 61,600 won before extras. The two 'expensive' posts point to the 59,000-won unlimited course and say it was 'pricey, but worth it'.
  3. You order from a tablet or kiosk at your table — 12 posts say so, and one notes the tablet has a language switch.
  4. Four posts mention a basket or plastic bag at each seat for bags and coats, one explaining it keeps the hotpot smell off your jacket. Several also mention aprons at the table.
2 more
  1. Twelve posts call the room spacious; one says it is 'not huge'. Four mention a wall of windows or sitting at a window table.
  2. You choose the mala heat level. Four posts found it hot (one ordered level 3 and called it very spicy; others compare levels 1–2 to Shin Ramyun), while one ordered the top level and said it wasn't hot or numbing at all.

The restaurant is upstairs, on the second floor; nine posts describe going up.

One post says there is no elevator and you must take the stairs; another describes walking up. Nobody mentions the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller.

The restroom seems to be outside the dining room: one post says it is separate from the restaurant, three say it is right by the entrance or inside the building, which leaves it unclear. One post says it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • No one reports waiting. One post got a table easily at noon on a weekday; another found about three tables taken at 4 p.m. on a weekend, full after 5. Evening queues appear only as hearsay. One post booked through Naver.
  • Twenty-six posts give the same hours — daily noon to 11 p.m., last order 10:30 — but all copied from the listing. Nobody mentions a break time, which means it went unrecorded, not that there isn't one.
  • The phone number 0507-1427-0864 is copied from the listing, as are the many mentions that reservations go through Naver and the queue through CatchTable.
  • Up to May 2026 the broths were mala, mushroom and tomato; from September posts a newly launched chicken-collagen broth joins them.
  • Three pairs of posts end with identical hashtag strings, and three posts went up on 17 September alone. Praise like 'clean' (21 posts) comes largely from posts of this promotional kind, so we don't weight it by the raw count.
