Jeju Samdadon

제주삼다돈 Samda ('three abundances') is the old nickname for Jeju island and don means pork — the name says Jeju pork, which is what the house grills.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jeju Samdadon is a Jeju-pork grill house occupying both floors of a building on Yanghwa-ro 11-gil, a few minutes from exit 9 of Hapjeong station. The usual order is two portions of skin-on pork belly with soybean stew and steamed egg; five posts give the belly at 20,000 won a portion, one at 19,000. The meat goes over charcoal, comes with a minced-garlic oil dip and anchovy sauce, and several posts describe kimchi being grilled alongside it. Posts surged after the restaurant appeared on Sung Si-kyung's YouTube show with actress Lim Ji-yeon in May 2026. We read 30 posts dated 15 May to 7 October 2026: 18 are actual visits, 10 retell the TV episode, list several places or read as promotion, and 2 were about other businesses.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts mention a closable private room upstairs; one copied-in info block gives its size as five to eleven people.
  2. Twelve posts describe a wall of celebrity autographs running up the stairs to the second floor. One points out Sung Si-kyung's card reading 'really delicious' with Park Hyo-shin's above it; others noticed some signed in Japanese.
  3. Six posts mention floor-to-ceiling windows or window seats thrown open on fine days, which one visitor likened to eating outdoors. Another wanted a window seat but found them all taken.
  4. Four posts say staff or the owner grilled the meat for them. One says staff only cut it, explaining they grill when it isn't too busy, so that one is undecided. Others mention the grill plate being changed unasked and kimchi being put on the grill for them.

Posts saying you can park5 of 18 posts

Five visitors found parking in front of the building. One of them warned it holds only three or four cars; with no space left, they parked at the Mangwon Market public lot and walked ten minutes. Claims of one car per party, valet parking and room for buses come from copied info blocks or promotional wording, so we did not count them.

Getting inside

Second floor14 of 18 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 18 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 18 posts

The restaurant takes up two floors. Fourteen posts describe seating upstairs, and five describe sitting on the ground floor, so this is not a basement place. One visitor noted that tables in the inner part of the ground floor are spaced out while those near the front are pushed together for groups; another found the tables a little tight.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance, wheelchair or pushchair access, or a lift. Posts only mention taking the stairs to the second floor. That means we don't know, not that access is impossible.

Only one visitor wrote that the toilet is inside the restaurant and clean. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied info blocks, so we did not count them.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 10 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-012 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting barely comes up. One visitor walked straight in on a Sunday evening. Another arrived early without a booking and watched both floors fill up soon after; one recommends booking for weekday dinner peaks (Naver booking works same-day). How long the wait is at busy times, we don't know.
  • Many posts pitch the place for company dinners and large groups, but none of the visits we counted was actually a group outing. Three visitors went with a partner or spouse, and three drove.
  • Six posts from mid-August to early October 2026 repeat the same lines in nearly the same order: room for 125, a Japanese-speaking staff member on site, a favourite of TV crews. One says it was arranged through a review platform, and one orders soybean stew and then describes eating kimchi stew, so we did not count it as a visit. We treat these lines, and the 'top 1% Jeju pork' claim, as the restaurant's own marketing.
  • Two visitors found it on the pricey side and one called the prices reasonable. One post totals 50,000 won for two portions of belly with soybean stew and steamed egg, drinks extra. Whether the soybean stew is free is split five to five, with no pattern over time.
  • Fifteen visit posts give opening hours, all copied from Naver: mostly 11:30-22:00 on weekdays with a 14:30-16:00 break, and 11:00-22:00 at weekends. One lists Tuesday to Friday and another says every day, so Monday opening and any regular closing day remain unconfirmed.
  • Several posts give the same phone number, 0507-1472-2140. One visitor booked through Naver; group-booking and buy-out capacity figures appear only in promotional wording.
