Jakga
작가 Jakga is the Korean word for a writer or artist.
Compiled from 5 blog posts read in fullSources →
A drinking spot at 71 Eoulmadang-ro in Hongdae, called Jakga or Jakga Hongdae main branch in the posts; the registered name Auteur never appears. We read 22 posts from 1 April to 30 September 2026, but 16 were photo-exhibition and event listings caught by the word for 'artist' and were set aside. Five posts describe a visit, four of them as a passing stop in a diary, usually as a second round over beer. What people ate does not fit one cuisine: seafood soft-tofu jjamppong stew, bossam, grilled chicken neck, flatfish sashimi, seafood pasta. One post described a loud first floor and private rooms on the second.

What sets it apart
- One post said the second and third floors are private rooms. The third floor was closed that evening for lack of guests, so the writer saw only floors one and two and passed on the third-floor rooms as hearsay.
- Two posts called it quiet: one said it is quiet for Hongdae, the other found the second-floor rooms calmer than the first floor.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

The registered address lists basement through fourth floor, but only one post described the floors, entering at ground level. We do not know whether there is basement seating.
Nobody mentioned an entrance step, stairs, a lift, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. With seating spread over several floors, we do not know whether the upper rooms are stairs-only.
One post said there is a toilet on every floor, with men's and women's alternating by floor. The rest did not mention toilets.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 6 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post listed dish prices. The only figure is one post saying a dish cost 'thirty-something thousand won', which the writer thought was pricey because it is Hongdae; which dish was not named. We do not know what a meal costs.
- No post gave opening hours or closing days, and none gave a phone number or said whether reservations are taken.
- One post said it sits in the middle of Hongdae and is easy by public transport, but nobody said which station or exit, or how far the walk is.
- No post mentioned waiting. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait; one post went in the evening and found it uncrowded.
- All four posts that say who came along went with friends or acquaintances. None went with family, children, or alone, so we cannot say how it suits those visits.
