Jaengbanjip 8292

쟁반집8292 Jaengban means a serving tray — the tables here hold a round tray of side dishes around the grill that turns like a lazy Susan; the posts do not explain the number 8292.

A barbecue place a few minutes' walk from exits 7 and 8 of Hongik University Station, at the mouth of Wausan-ro 29-gil. A round tray of side dishes sits around each grill and turns, so you spin it to bring a dish to you. You order sets — the 600g four-cut pork Donjaengban, the 450g three-cut beef Ujaengban — grill them yourself, and finish with rice in doenjang broth, kimchi rice soup or cold noodles. In 2026 posts the pork set is 49,000 won and the beef set 58,000 won; in 2025 they were 46,000 and 56,000. We read 30 posts dated February 4, 2025 to October 23, 2026; 24 describe actually eating there.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. You order on a tablet at each table; eight posts did so. A repeat visitor in 2025 noted the tablets hadn't been there in February, and the tablet vendor posted about installing them that same month. One post says the first order must be at least 300g, after which you can add 100g at a time.
  2. Extra sides come from a self-serve bar; seven posts mention it, listing lettuce, pickled radish, gungchae stems, fish-cake stir-fry, kimchi and ssamjang. One person took about thirty lettuce leaves and says staff refilled garlic, which wasn't on the bar, on request. Several posts mention yogurt drinks left at the counter on the way out.
  3. Evenings fill up. Two posts describe waiting: one got the last two seats at 6:30 pm on a Saturday and saw about ten parties waiting when they left; another saw people on the outdoor waiting chairs around 8 pm on a weekend. One post found it full at 7 pm on a weekday but walked straight into a table at the back; another saw two parties already there at 5:30 pm and a full room by 6:30. Two posts booked ahead.
  4. Five posts describe the walk from the station in their own words: about three minutes from exit 7 along Eoulmadang-ro, then left into Wausan-ro 29-gil; from exit 8, one turn at the Seogang Building and about a minute. The wording closely follows the restaurant's own directions.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

Posts saying you cannot1 of 22 posts

Only one post states from experience that there's no parking. The 'no parking' and 'Donggyo 1 street lot, 3,000 won per 30 minutes' lines elsewhere are copied info blocks, so we didn't count them.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Five posts describe the walk from the station in their own words: about three minutes from exit 7 along Eoulmadang-ro, then left into Wausan-ro 29-gil; from exit 8, one turn at the Seogang Building and about a minute. The wording closely follows the restaurant's own directions.

Getting inside

No post mentions from experience which floor it's on; the '1st floor' in the address is copied.

No post says whether there's a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — not that there is or isn't, just that nobody wrote about it.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it's separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2025-02-042 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The hours seem to have changed in summer 2025: six posts up to July 2025 give 11:00–02:00 daily, seven from August 2025 give 11:00–01:00 with last orders at 23:30. All are copied listings; one says there is no closing day.
  • Prices have gone up. Four posts from April–August 2025 put the pork set at 46,000 won, four from February 2026 at 49,000, and one August 2026 post paid 48,000. The beef set went from 56,000 won (September 2025) to 58,000 (May 2026 on). One post says three people sharing a beef set plus rice dishes came to under 20,000 won each.
  • Some posts share the same wording: three 2026 posts describe the directions, the kimchi rice soup and the cold noodles in identical phrases that echo the restaurant's own blurb. One August 2025 post disclosed sponsorship; a tablet vendor's promo and two multi-restaurant lists were not counted.
  • Posts give two phone numbers: 0507-1390-8295 in five and 02-325-8292 in three. One post booked through Naver reservations.
